Strengths Weaknesses

STRENGTHS: Big, athletic tackle who focused full-time on the O-line after four games at tight end midway through his junior year. Has immense upside. Did see time at both tackle spots during his first two seasons.

WEAKNESSES: Multiple suspensions marred his UCF career before showing improved maturity and dependability as a senior. Will need a patient coaching staff as he develops.

Player Overview

Martin is an excellent overall athlete who was also recruited by Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Southern Miss and USF.

Despite a career that included several suspensions, Martin appears matured and put together a strong senior season as the starting right tackle for UCF.

"I appreciate every moment I've been at this school," Martin told the Orlando Sentinel in 2012. "I've had some conduct issues. I'm not really the best kid, I guess. I've made some mistakes - everybody has. Unfortunately, I've had to pay for mine in certain ways that really hurt. I was fortunate to be able to come back. ... It really makes you appreciate what you have when you have it taken away."

He was named second team All-AAC, and helped anchor a line that paved the way for productive seasons by quarterback Blake Bortles and running back Storm Johnson.

Martin is a converted tight end who brings intriguing athleticism to the table. He ran a pedestrian 5.14-second 40-yard dash at his March 19 pro day, but also posted 33 reps on the 225-pound bench press, a 31-inch vertical, 8'8" broad jump, 4.68 short shuttle and 7.77 3-cone drill.

Martin spent six seasons at UCF, and by the end of his tenure he was able to serve as a mentor to younger players.

"He traveled a bumpy road to get where he is right now," UCF offensive line coach Brent Key told the Sentinel last August. "He can be an influence and a sense of encouragement for the young guys to show them what not to do, since he's made some of those mistakes. I think he's cherishing that role."
