Strengths Weaknesses

STRENGTHS: Good-sized and plays bigger than he looks with deceiving body strength to drag tacklers. Smooth athlete with good play speed, burst and acceleration, showing natural flexibility and springs in his legs. Knows where the sticks area and gets good depth in his routes. Strong hands and will pluck the ball away from his body with good hand size.

WEAKNESSES: Usually sure-handed but has focus drops. Bad habit of unnecessarily jumping and allowing the ball into his body at times. Needs to do a better job in tight coverage and can be outmuscled. Needs to eliminate the mental errors and improve his sideline awareness.

Player Overview

A two-star recruit from central Texas, Boyce set a school record with 22 career touchdown receptions and amassed 2,532 receiving yards. Long-striding athlete with smooth acceleration to get behind the secondary and beat defenders at all levels.

Had great chemistry with Casey Pachall, but scouts were encouraged to see his production improve even after a quarterback change. Doesn't stand out in any one area but has the body control and hands to be a reliable NFL threat.
