Strengths Weaknesses

STRENGTHS: Good vision and feel with the patience and spatial awareness to pick up chunks of yardage. Fluellen is one of the most reliable pass-catching backs in the nation and currently leads the team in receptions (13/142), using his long arms and natural focus to reel-in passes and be a factor after the catch. Tough, reliable and never leaves the field. WEAKNESSES: He doesn't have much initial explosion. He lacks the athletic traits to separate him from others.--Dane Brugler

Player Overview

After rushing for nearly 1,500 yards last year as a junior last season, Fluellen entered 2013 as one of the MAC's top NFL prospects. But he faced a tough task to begin this season as Toledo (0-2) opened with a pair of SEC opponents, Florida and Missouri. Nonetheless, Fluellen has been the workhorse for the Rockets, both rushing and receiving.Against Missouri, Fluellen did a nice job sticking his foot in the ground to plant and let defenders over-pursue while he used his lateral quickness to reverse his path. Fluellen isn't a sure bet to be drafted, but it's easy to appreciate his style of football. (9/13/13)
