Player Overview

Rhodes landed at West Alabama after being dismissed by Florida International in July 2013 for a "violation of team policy," which the Miami Herald reported was for firing a gun on campus.

At West Alabama, he averaged a gaudy 6.9 yards on 92 carries for 634 yards and six touchdowns in eight games.

Rhodes led FIU with 714 rushing yards in 2012 after running for 1,149 the previous year.

At his pro day, Rhodes was credited with a modest 40-yard dash timing of 4.60 seconds while posting a 39-inch vertical and a 10'5" broad jump.

Strengths Weaknesses

Shows powerful lower body and good natural skills that could develop into a rotational player in the NFL. However, Rhodes lacks top-end speed and was credited with a pedestrian 4.60-second 40-yard dash at his pro day. Combined with off-field red flags, and Rhodes will have to get into someone's offseason program, prove he has matured and make a mark on special teams. Did post solid marks of a 4.11-second short shuttle and 6.70-second 3-cone drill.

07/15/2013 - Florida International is making the move from the Sun Belt to Conference USA this season but will be doing so without its leading rusher. FIU announced on Monday that running back Kedrick Rhodes had been dismissed from the football program due to a "violation of team policy." The school's statement didn't identify the violation, but odds are it was a recent arrest.

The Miami Herald reports Rhodes, who would have been a senior this coming season, was arrested just after midnight on Sunday and was charged with discharging a weapon on school property, which is a second-degree felony. The paper also reports Rhodes was charged with three unnamed misdemeanor charges as well. Rhodes led the Panthers in rushing last season with 717 yards and four touchdowns. In the 2011 season, he rushed for 1,149 yards and eight touchdowns. He also caught 54 passes for 545 yards and another two touchdowns during his career.

Without Rhodes, the Panthers' leading returning rusher will be quarterback Jake Medlock, who rushed for 236 yards and three touchdowns last season. Running back Shane Coleman will likely take over the starting role, and he's coming off a season in which he only had eight carries for 34 yards. - Tom Fornelli, CBSSports.com
