Player Overview

A two-star DE recruit, Pamphile played primarily on the hardwood as a basketball player in high school, but tried football as a senior in 2008 and played well enough to earn FBS scholarship offers from Florida Atlantic, Middle Tennessee State and Purdue, committing to the Boilermakers and redshirting in 2009.

He played sparingly as a DE/DT in 2010 before transitioning to the offensive side of the ball prior to his sophomore year, seeing limited snaps at tackle in four games. Pamphile shared the starting LT duties in 2012 before securing the full-time job as a senior in 2013, showing excellent progress at the position. He is a fluid athlete for the position with foot quickness and raw power, showing improvements every time he stepped onto the field, but needs to continue and develop his strength and technique.

With Pamphile it doesn?t always look pretty, but more often than not he gets the job done and his potential of where he could be in a few years makes him a draftable prospect.

Strengths Weaknesses

STRENGTHS: Adequate height and length for the position with some growth potential?balanced and coordinated athlete with the movement skills to be comfortable on his feet and in space?explodes off the LOS with an aggressive demeanor?nice job protecting the edge, bringing his feet with him to wall-off the pocket.

Naturally wide base with smooth lateral shuffle to ride rushers around the arc?easy puller and gets out in front down the field?shows a rudimentary understanding of body angles, but is constantly improving in this area?raw strength to latch and drive and use his momentum in the run game?competes on each snap with the same mentality?mature and accountable with developing leadership traits.

WEAKNESSES: Lacks desired bulk for the position, especially in his lower body?will over-set on the outside and is susceptible to inside moves?needs to keep himself under control on the move to connect with his target?ties himself up in his lower half and has room to improve his footwork?tends to overextend himself at times and needs to pick and choose the right time to land his jabs ? hand placement is work-in-progress.

Needs to improve his ball awareness and ability to locate and move with the pocket?absorbs too much contact at the POA and needs to pack more punch into his hands?room to improve his instincts and do a better job identifying pre-snap pressures?still relatively new to the OL with only 29 career games on the offensive side of the ball ? only one year of high school football.
