Player Overview

Underwood was named a first team Missouri Valley Conference and third team FCS All-American after leading the Redbirds with 12 tackles for loss and finishing third on the team with 66 tackles as a senior.

Underwood did not earn an invitation to the scouting combine, but did work out at Northwestern's pro day on March 4. He posted 26 reps on the 225-pound bench press to go along with a 4.69 40-yard dash, 36-inch vertical, 10'00" broad jump, 4.43 short shuttle an 7.10 3-cone drill.

Strengths Weaknesses

STRENGTHS: Good combination of strength (26 reps at 225 pounds) and speed (4.69-second 40-yard dash). Displays good instincts, and rarely gives up on a play. Hard worker who will be willing to earn stripes on special teams. Team captain.

WEAKNESSES: Lacks the bulk to be more than a situational pass rusher, and likely will need to make the transition to OLB, but does he have enough coverage skills? Stats racked up against lower level competition. Struggled a bit as a senior as the focus of opposing offenses.
