- Terrance Smith Returning for Redshirt Senior Season...Two-year starting linebacker Terrance Smith will return to Florida State for his redshirt senior season, FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher announced on Thursday. "Terrance is one of the leaders of our defense and he has a chance to be a very good professional as he continues to grow in his game," Fisher said. "His return is key to our defense and I'm very excited to have him a part of our program for another season. I think he's making a very smart decision to come back as I think he can be an NFL player for a very long time. He's going to be a very counted-upon guy with his senior leadership."
Smith was the ACC's leading tackler early in the 2014 season and he finished the year with 87 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss as one of the leaders of the FSU defense. He nabbed All-ACC Second Team honors and had one of the highlights of the 2014 season when he returned an interception 94 yards for a touchdown to swing momentum versus Florida. "I'm excited to return to Florida State for one more year," Smith said. "I talked to Coach Fisher and my family and we decided this is the best opportunity for me. I know that I can improve as a player and I'm looking forward to one more year with my teammates and competing for another championship. - Florida State football
