03/29/2013 - 2013 Valdosta State Pro Day: Edmund Kugbila vying to be Valdosta State's first draft pick since 1997...Representatives from 19 NFL teams gathered at Valdosta State's pro day on March 18, where seven Blazers players and five others from smaller area colleges worked out outdoors on FieldTurf. Edmund Kugbila, G (6-foot-4 3/8, 319 pounds) - Kugbila - who was at the NFL Scouting Combine - ran the 40-yard dash in 5.13 and 5.20 seconds. He had a 26 1/2-inch vertical jump and an 8-foot-8 broad jump. He kept his short shuttle and three-cone drill times from the combine.

New England Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia put Kugbila through his pro day workout. Kugbila also had a workout with the Carolina Panthers. He has visits scheduled with the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs. Kugbila was born in Ghana and lived there until he was 10 years old. The last player drafted out of Valdosta State was linebacker Artie Ulmer, who was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 1997 NFL Draft. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com
