Player Overview

Thomas had a team-best 13 passes defended in 2014 and finished second on the team with three interceptions for the second straight year.

Strengths Weaknesses

STRENGTHS: Thomas started at cornerback but also saw snaps at safety in 2015. He plays much tougher than he looks, sticking his nose in the fire and striking ballcarriers low and behind his pads.

Does a nice job patrolling the middle of the field, making open-field stops in run support and high-pointing throws to make plays on the ball. He plays with good field speed and looks to disrupt receivers in their routes.

WEAKNESSES: He doesn't look like much with average height, thin bone structure and very lean features. Thomas plays mostly off and bail techniques, dropping off the snap in zone and reading the quarterback. Needs to tweak his transition technique to better play on his toes and explode to the catch point.

IN OUR VIEW: Texas doesn't have a senior who is a lock to be drafted, but Thomas is one of the few with an outside chance to hear his name late.
