Player Overview

Wilson is a four-year starter for the Utes.

Strengths Weaknesses

STRENGTHS: Rare blend of size, mobility and arm talent. Shows the velocity and accuracy to hit quick slants as well as terrific touch on fades, deep balls and short passes to the flat.

Light on his feet to pick up positive yards with his legs, showing surprising feet and good toughness.

WEAKNESSES: Often late with his reads and makes too many poor decisions, forcing the ball into windows that simply aren't there. Wilson stands tall at 6-7, but with his unorthodox throwing motion, the ball shoots off his hand at a low launch point, allowing defenders to float and break on throws.

He's often too quick to tuck and run, abandoning his routes due to an internal clock that is frequently on the fritz. Has struggled with durability throughout his career.

IN OUR VIEW: Wilson entered the season with free agent grades from NFL teams, but he has some fans in the scouting community. However, it's hard to see him being drafted - especially after poor performances like the one he had in a blowout loss to USC.

11/03/2015 - The magic number is down to four for No. 13 Utah. Four more wins and the Utes will play in their first Pac-12 title game since joining the conference in 2011. The Utah defense ruled the day again, helping the Utes beat Oregon State 27-12 on Saturday night. Utah (7-1, 4-1) holds a game lead in the Pac-12 South over UCLA (6-2, 3-2) with four games remaining, including the Bruins on Nov. 21.

"Were you impressed by that," Utah coach Kyle Whittingham asked the media at the start of his press conference. "... Bottom line is that we're 7-1 and we're headed to Seattle with sole possession of first place in the Pac-12 South. "I'm very interested in the College Playoff Rankings. That's what it's all about. The other rankings are just window dressing for the fans and the media. We very, very interested to see where we're at." Utah led 14-0 after its first two possessions and cruised from there. Devontae Booker rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown, and Travis Wilson completed 14 of 17 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown and ran for 56 yards and a score. Wilson broke the Utah record for starts by a quarterback with 34, and tied Alex Smith for second place in school history with 21 wins as a starter. - AP Sports
