Overview

With so much of the attention on Pac-10 offensive linemen being spread between Oregon's Max Unger and Cal's Alex Mack, many might be surprised to note that Fletcher earned second-team all-conference accolades after each of the past two seasons. A versatile contributor with extensive starting experience at right guard and center, Fletcher ranks among the nation's most underappreciated talents. While he lacks the flashy athleticism and big name to earn high-round consideration, his size, versatility and tenacity could result in a middle-round selection and early playing time in the NFL.

Analysis

Positives: Short, squatty powerful build preferred by NFL offensive line coaches for the middle. Good hand placement. Can turn and seal off the defender. Plays with leverage and can hold up to bigger, stronger defenders. Can anchor and absorb the bull rush. Good lateral quickness to get out and lead and for combination blocks. High effort player who looks to hit someone. Versatile. Experienced at center and both guard positions. Team captain.

Negatives: Lacks the lower body strength to consistently generate movement in short-yardage situations. Good quickness to get to the second level for combination blocks, but lacks balance and agility in space to generate quality blocks.
