08/09/2011 - OT Blake DeChristopher has a strained left pectoral muscle and will be out for at least a month, the school announced August 2. DeChristopher was the Hokies' top lineman and his loss is a setback, although the early schedule is relatively soft compared to 2010, when Tech opened with Boise State. To replace DeChristopher in the first week of the regular season and possibly for the week two trip to East Carolina the Hokies could move center Michael Via to tackle permanently. He's played both positions in the past two seasons.

08/02/2011 - Virginia Tech starting offensive tackle Blake DeChristopher will miss four to six weeks with a strained left pectoral muscle, the school announced Tuesday afternoon. If he misses the full amount, DeChristopher could miss the first two games of the season against Appalachian State and East Carolina. DeChristopher is entering his fourth season as a starter, and has started 22 straight. - AP Sports
