04/23/2012 - Dunsmore probably will be selected later in the draft. More of a receiver than a blocker, he caught 143 passes and scored 14 touchdowns at Northwestern. NFL teams are increasingly looking for tight ends with receiving skills, so Dunsmore has received interest from several NFL teams and worked out for a handful, including the Chiefs, Patriots, Bears and Rams. "I've kind of tried to keep a level head about it," he said. "My main focus is just to be on a team into camp in August. People have said I'll get drafted. Some said I won't get drafted. There are so many different things out there. I'm trying not to ride that roller coaster. "This has been a great experience, because until the last couple of years I didn't anticipate it. I got the late start in football. It was my dad's family rule: No football until high school. He got into the game late. He didn't start playing ball until his senior year of high school out in Iowa. "But it's worked out. When you're younger, you can develop bad habits. There's potential for bad coaching. Football is a game that once you're fully developed physically, you can pick it up pretty quickly." - Adam Teicher, The Kansas City Star

10/31/2011 - WEEK 9 BIG TEN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Drake Dunsmore, Northwestern, Sr., TE...Caught a Northwestern single-game record four touchdown passes in the Wildcats' win over Indiana...Scored on receptions of six, nine, 10 and 22 yards, the most touchdown receptions in a single game in the Big Ten this season...Finished the game with seven catches for 112 yards, setting the program career record for receiving yards by a tight end...Claims his first career Big Ten weekly honor. - Big Ten football

07/08/2011 - 2011 JOHN MACKEY AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Drake Dunsmore, Northwestern, Sr, is one of 34 tight ends named to the Mackey Award preseason watch list for the 2001 college football season by the Nassau County (N.Y.) Sports Commission. The Mackey Award, named for NFL Hall of Famer John Mackey, is presented annually to college football's most outstanding tight end. Through three years as a key contributor on the NU offense, Dunsmore has proven himself to be a dynamic offensive threat as well as a reliable pass and run blocker. The son of former Chicago Bears tight end Pat Dunsmore, he has caught at least 40 passes each of the last two seasons and has eight career touchdowns to his credit. An honorable mention All-Big Ten choice a year ago, Dunsmore's career-best performance came in the 2010 Outback Bowl when he caught nine balls for 120 yards, including an impressive 66-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown. - Northwestern football
