07/16/2011 - RIMINGTON TROPHY PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Garth Gerhart, Arizona State, has been named one of 43 players selected to the 2011 Preseason Rimington Trophy Watch List, given annually to the the Most Outstanding Center in NCAA Division I-A College Football. Gerhart, a 6-2, 295-pounder from Norco, California, is one of only three returning starters in the Pacific-12 Conference. Gerhart is the most experienced returning center in the league, having started in all three seasons of his career. Gerhart, who has started 22 of the 26 games he has played in, is a team leader and the anchor of a veteran offensive line. Gerhart is a history major and is the younger brother of current Minnesota Viking running back Toby Gerhart. - Arizona State football

07/11/2011 - 2011 OUTLAND TROPHY PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Garth Gerhart, Arizona State, C, has been selected one of 65 players named to Preseason Outland Trophy Watch List for the 2011 college football season. The Outland Trophy goes to the best interior lineman in college football, presented annually since 1946 and is the third oldest award in major college football. Gerhart (Norco, Calif.) started all 12 games at center for the Sun Devils last season and has appeared in 26 games in his three-year career, starting 22. - Arizona State football
