USC coach Lane Kiffin called Irish coach Brian Kelly to apologize for Galippo's comments after the Trojans' 31-17 victory. Galippo is a senior linebacker who was recruited by Notre Dame. He said the Irish are "not anything like USC" after they declined to use their timeouts to slow the Trojans' final drive in the fourth quarter, ending the game by consuming nearly seven minutes. USC tailback Marc Tyler said the Trojans wore out the Irish.
