10/03/2011 - Texas senior safety Christian Scott is out indefinitely with a right wrist injury. Texas athletic trainer Kenny Boyd says Scott was hurt in Saturday's win over Iowa State. Boyd says Scott will continue to be evaluated but is out indefinitely. The injury further hurts Texas' depth in the secondary as the No. 11 Longhorns (4-0) prepare to play No. 3 Oklahoma (4-0) on Saturday. Another safety, Nolan Brewster, recently gave up football because of concussions and migraine headaches. Scott missed the first three games due to suspension after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge. - AP Sports

08/25/2011 - Safety Christian Scott was suspended indefinitely on Aug. 8, the day after he was arrested on a misdemeanor assault with bodily injury charge. He has played in 25 games and started 10, missing the 2009 season due to academics. "We're aware of the situation with Christian Scott and disappointed any time one of our players is accused of wrongdoing," Brown said. "We've talked to Christian and his family, and he has been suspended from all activities with our football team. Following the completion of the legal process, we will do what's best for the university, Christian and the team," coach Mack Brown said in a statement. The Austin American-Statesman reported that Scott pulled a woman who came to his apartment to repossess his 2000 Cadillac for the second time in a year was the victim. Scott allegedly pulled her from the Cadillac, threw her to the ground and fled in the vehicle. He was soon after arrested at a nearby gas station. A four-star recruit from Dallas Skyline High in 2007, the fifth-year senior is a long shot to return to the team given recent history. The San Antonio Express-News cites player arrest records from June 2009 to spring 2010. The four players arrested in that span never played for Texas again. 08/23/2011 - Suspended Texas senior safety Christian Scott has been reinstated to the team after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor assault charge. Coach Mack Brown says Scott will still have to sit out the first three games, but will be allowed to practice with the scout team. Scott had been suspended from all team activities since his Aug. 8 arrest. Scott entered his plea Monday and received two year's deferred adjudication and must serve 40 hours of community service. He also must attend a stress management class and pay restitution to the victim. Police said Scott assaulted a woman trying repossess his car. He had faced a Class A misdemeanor that carried up to a year in jail and fines up to $4,000. - AP Sports

08/10/2011 - Longhorns football player Christian Scott's arrest Monday followed an incident in which he grabbed a woman who was attempting to repossess his car, forced her out of the vehicle and flung her onto an asphalt parking lot, according to the arrest warrant obtained by the American-Statesman. Scott, a senior safety, was arrested Monday afternoon on a charge of Class A misdemeanor assault with bodily injury . He has been suspended indefinitely from the football team by head coach Mack Brown. According to the affidavit, Jeanne Somers Doyle - an owner of Tracker Recovery - was in the process of repossessing Scott's 2000 Cadillac from his apartment complex because Scott had fallen behind on his payments. On Monday, Brown said Scott would be suspended from all football activities until his legal situation has been resolved, then "we will do what's best for the university, Christian and the team." Scott is considered to be one of Texas' top three safeties along with Blake Gideon and Kenny Vaccaro. 08/09/2011 - Texas safety Christian Scott, who started 10 games for the Longhorns last season, has been suspended from all football activities after being arrested and jailed on an assault charge Monday, UT coach Mack Brown announced. Scott, 22, was arrested at about 10:25 a.m. Monday after police received a call from the 12000 block of North Interstate 35, an Austin Police Department spokesman said. Scott was booked at Travis County Jail and charged with Class A misdemeanor assault with bodily injury. Scott, a 6-foot-1, 217-pound senior from Dallas Skyline High, had 53 tackles and an interception for the Longhorns last season. In a statement released by UT on Monday night, Brown said the Longhorns will wait until Scott's case is resolved before making a decision as to whether he'll play again. "We're aware of the situation with Christian Scott and disappointed any time one of our players is accused of wrongdoing," Brown said. "We've talked to Christian and his family, and he has been suspended from all activities with our football team. 08/08/2011 - Texas senior safety Christian Scott has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault with bodily injury. An Austin police spokeswoman says Scott was arrested Monday morning near his apartment after officers responded to a call about an assault. Further details were not immediately released. The charge is a Class A misdemeanor which brings a maximum of one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $4,000. Texas team spokesman John Bianco says coach Mack Brown is aware of the arrest and will likely make a statement later Monday. Scott started 10 games last season and had 53 tackles and one interception as Texas finished 5-7. - AP Sports
