04/30/2012 - A closer look at the Ravens' picks: Round 4/98 - Gino Gradkowski, C/G, 6-3, 300, Delaware...Gradkowski is making an adjustment to a much higher level of football. Smart and tough, he's the younger brother of quarterback Bruce Gradkowski. - The Sports Xchange

04/30/2012 - A two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection who transferred from West Virginia, Gradkowski ran the 40-yard dash in 5.25 seconds at his Pro Day workout and bench-pressed 225 pounds 29 times with a 28 1/2 inch vertical leap, an 8-7 broad jump, a 4.78 20-yard shuttle and a 7.75 three-cone drill. "I definitely take pride in being athletic," Gradkowski said. "I played basketball in high school. That's where I got my athleticism from. I'm good in space at blocking the secondary guys. I take a lot of pride in my ability to understand offenses and defenses. Mentally-wise, I bring a lot to the table." "It's good that I played all three inside positions at Delaware. My versatility, bouncing around the inside, obviously helps. Anybody that goes to the NFL wants to be a starter. That's my goal. If I need to be that swing man as a backup my first year, that's fine. I want to compete for a starting job." Gradkowski said he tries to emulate veteran NFL centers like Birk and Green Bay Packers center Jeff Saturday. "I'm just a hard-nosed guy, a hard worker," Gradkowski said. "I played at Delaware and we did a lot of pulling and stuff like that. So, I feel good in space and I feel like athleticism is one of my strong points. So, definitely versatility is also is my strong point." - The Sports Xchange

04/30/2012 - The Ravens drafted University of Delaware All-America center Gino Gradkowski in the fourth round. Gradkowski is expected to be groomed behind six-time Pro Bowl center Matt Birk. "I had a great feel, I feel like I fit that mentality well," Gradkowski said. "I'm elated right now because Baltimore plays football the way it's meant to be played. And that just excites me. It's a perfect spot for me. "Come in and maybe play guard my first year and eventually take over at center. That's what I was looking to do, get in behind a veteran like Matt Birk. I'm really excited to meet him and pick his brain about football. It's a perfect scenario, and I just couldn't be happier." The younger brother of NFL quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, the 6-2, 300-pounder visited the Ravens, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons. 04/19/2012 - Some of the smaller-school cornerbacks, who seemed to be so fashionable only a few weeks ago, appear to be dropping on draft boards. There is a chance now that few, if any, will go off before the third round. ... Brandon Brooks of Miami (Ohio) isn't the only small college guard to get attention. He won't be drafted nearly as high as Brooks, who is likely to be the first non-combine player off the board, perhaps as early as the third round, but Gino Gradkowski of Delaware figures to be in the sixth or seventh round now. The main concern with Gradkowski is a lack of lower-body bulk. ... Defensive lineman Chigbo Anunoby has been fairly impressive in individual work and could be the second player from Morehouse drafted in the past three years. - Len Pasquarelli, The Sports Xchange

04/12/2012 - University of Delaware All-American center Gino Gradkowski recently visited the Ravens and the Tennessee Titans. The younger brother of NFL quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, the 6-foot-2, 300-pounder has upcoming visits with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons. The Pittsburgh native has conducted private workouts for the Ravens, Titans and the Philadelphia Eagles. "It was a great experience, a beautiful facility and everything was first-class with the Ravens," Gradkowski said in a telephone interview. "I really enjoyed talking to their coaches and everyone with the Ravens. Baltimore, that's just what football is all about. Places like that and Pittsburgh have that great fan base that cares about their team." A two-time All-Colonial Athletic Association selection who transferred from West Virginia, Gradkowski ran the 40-yard dash in 5.25 seconds at his pro day workout and bench pressed 225 pounds 29 times with a 28 1/2 inch vertical leap, an 8-7 broad jump, a 4.78 20-yard shuttle and a 7.75 three-cone drill. 12/21/2011 - 2011 AFCA FCS ALL-AMERICA TEAM: OL Gino Gradkowski, Sr., Delaware, has been selected to the 2011 AFCA Football Championship Subdivision Coaches' All-America Team announced by the American Football Coaches Association. The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. What makes these teams so special is that they are the only ones chosen exclusively by the men who know the players the best - the coaches themselves. "Gino had a phenomenal year, possibly the best for an offensive lineman that I've seen in my 10 years here at Delaware," said Keeler. "The leadership that he provides to our team in the weight room and the locker room, not to mention his play on the field, makes him very deserving of being a first team All-American." A two-year starter after transfering from West Virginia, Gradkowski led a senior-laden offensive line unit that also included All-Colonial Athletic Association picks Shea Allard and Rob McDowell. - Delaware football

12/21/2011 - 2011 AP FCS ALL-AMERICAN SECOND TEAM: Offensive Line - Gino Gradowski, senior, Delaware, has been selected Second Team All-American for the 2011 college football season by The Associated Press. A two-time first team All-CAA selection, Gradkowski has solidified his reputation as the top offensive lineman in the league as well as one of the top blockers in the nation this season. He is expected to earn looks from National Football League teams as a potential pick in this spring's annual draft. Gradkowski helped lead Keeler's squad to a 7-4 record this past fall as the Hens barely missed out on a berth in the NCAA Tournament. Gradkowski was also the Hens' top offensive lineman in 2010 when Delaware went 12-3 and advanced to the national championship game. - Delaware football
