03/17/2013 - 2013 Nevada Pro Day: Representatives from 30 NFL teams gathered at the pro day held at Nevada, where 14 players went through a workout held outdoors on FieldTurf. Zach Sudfeld, TE (6-6 3/4, 253) - Sudfeld ran the 40 in 4.77 and 4.71 seconds. He had a 9-foot-5 broad jump, a 4.48-second short shuttle and a 7.00-second three-cone drill time. He also performed 11 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. Sudfeld had a really impressive workout. What he needs to work on is his strength. Sudfeld has the potential to compete for an NFL roster spot, but between now and training camp he has to get stronger. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

12/24/2012 - Wolf Pack tight end Zach Sudfeld has accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game. Sudfeld started all 13 games this season and caught 45 passes for 598 yards. He scored nine touchdowns, including one off a fumble, and had a breakout senior season that has put him on the NFL draft radar.

Sudfeld's greatest asset is his combination of size (6-foot-7, 255 pounds), athleticism and good hands. Sudfeld was one of eight semifinalists for the Mackey Award, which is given to the top tight end in the nation. He was a second-team All-Mountain West pick.

The East-West Shrine Game is one of two marquee postseason bowls for draft-eligible players along with the Senior Bowl. Ninety-two players from last year's East-West Shrine Game made it to NFL training camps, including 37 who were drafted. - Chris Murray, The Reno Gazette-Journal

12/15/2012 - SCOUTING THE PASS GAME: The Wolf Pack passing game started out strong this season but didn't close the year that way. The accuracy of quarterback Cody Fajardo waned late in the season. He was good, just not great. Nevada averaged 243 passing yards per game and had 21 touchdowns to just eight interceptions. The Wolf Pack mostly employs short and intermediate routes, rarely going deep. Wide receiver Brandon Wimberly (63 catches for 788 yards and four touchdowns) is the team's top target, along with 6-foot-7 tight end Zach Sudfeld (43 catches for 553 yards and six scores). - The Sports Xchange

12/14/2012 - 2012 ALL-MOUNTAIN WEST SECOND-TEAM (COACHES & MEDIA): TE Zach Sudfeld, Grad., Nevada, has been selected Second Team All-Mountain West Conference (Coaches & Media selection) for the 2012 college football season. - Nevada football
