09/27/2010 - LOOKING GOOD: The defense, which was the team's big question mark as it had to replace seven starters, ranks third nationally in scoring defense at 11.0 points per game and fourth in total defense (230.75 yards per game). The Wildcats have held three opponents (Toledo, The Citadel and Cal) out of the end zone. They have allowed only three touchdowns - and one of those was an 18-yard Iowa drive after a fumble. "I'm very proud of our defense," junior safety Robert Golden after the 10-9 win over Cal. "People underestimate us. We came out with a chip on our shoulder."
09/03/2010 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: CB Robert Golden - The junior is moving to cornerback after being the starting strong safety last season. Cornerback is his natural position, but he'll have a lot to prove as Toledo and future opponents target him instead of all-star candidate Trevin Wade on the other side. The secondary will be wary of Toledo WR Eric Page (82 catches for 1,159 yards and seven touchdowns last season).
