10/10/2011 - The offensive line is injured with both starting guards out, but that gives no comfort to battered QB Tino Sunseri. Sunseri was sacked six times by Rutgers and has been sacked 28 times in six games. The pressure led to four interceptions being thrown by Pitt, three of them from Sunseri as he completed 14 of 28 for only 127 yards. Pitt played the Rutgers game without senior OGs Lucas Nix and Chris Jacobson, both out with knee injuries. Jacobson is out for the year but Nix is expected to return, although there is no timetable. - The Sports Xchange

10/03/2011 - Pitt senior offensive right guard Lucas Nix did not suffer a significant injury to his left knee Thursday night and may return to the lineup soon, coach Todd Graham said today. "We received very positive feedback on Lucas Nix today from our medical staff as his MRI did not reveal any significant damage," Graham said. "Lucas will undergo an intense rehabilitation program and we are hopeful he will be back in action soon." Nix, a senior from Thomas Jefferson, was injured in the second play of Pitt's 44-17 victory against South Florida when someone fell on him. He did not return, but he watched most of the game while standing on the sideline with an ice pack on his leg. He was replaced by redshirt sophomore Ryan Schlieper. - Jerry DiPaola, The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

09/08/2011 - Pitt's projected starting lineup on offense this week features only three seniors all on the offensive line. They are guards Chris Jacobson and Lucas Nix and RT Jordan Gibbs. There are only two other seniors on the offensive two-deep in LT Greg Gaskins and tailback Zach Brown. - The Sports Xchange

07/11/2011 - 2011 OUTLAND TROPHY PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Lucas Nix, Pittsburgh, OT, has been selected one of 65 players named to Preseason Outland Trophy Watch List for the 2011 college football season. The Outland Trophy goes to the best interior lineman in college football, presented annually since 1946 and is the third oldest award in major college football. Forming the nucleus of Pitt's offensive line, both Chris Jacobson and Nix are entering their senior seasons for the Panthers. Jacobson made the switch from guard to center this spring and Nix will play right tackle. Both are poised for successful senior seasons as they look to pave the way for junior running back Ray Graham. - Pitt football

11/01/2010 - Since putting Jordan Gibbs in at right tackle and moving Lucas Nix to right guard, Pitt's offensive line has allowed only five sacks in five games. It had allowed five sacks in the previous game, a loss to Miami. - The Sports Xchange
