09/18/2011 - Dyrell Roberts fought long and hard to return from injury for his senior season. Now the backup flanker may be done for his career. Roberts sustained a broken left arm on a 28-yard return on the opening kickoff in Virginia Tech's 26-7 win over Arkansas State on Saturday at Lane Stadium. Last year, Roberts saw his season end when he underwent emergency surgery on his left thigh after Tech's 28-21 victory at Georgia Tech on Nov. 4. Counting his one return Saturday, Roberts has averaged 29.6 yards on five kickoff returns this season. He surpassed Jon Jeffries as Tech's all-time leader in kickoff return yards in the Hokies' season-opening 66-13 rout of Appalachian State.
