11/27/2012 - 2012 ALL-PAC-12 HONORABLE MENTION: DL Will Perciak, Sr.,...has been selected All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention for the 2012 college football season. - Colorado football
11/18/2012 - DE Will Pericak has started every game in his career and holds the school record with 48 straight starts. He tied the most games ever played by a defensive player in school history when he became the fifth defender to play in 48 games.
10/02/2012 - Colorado star defensive lineman Will Pericak faces two opponents every Saturday: the opposing quarterback and diabetes. After every other series, he goes to the sideline for finger pricks to test his blood sugars. High-fructose energy drinks are on hand if he needs them. Pericak (pronounced PRE-check) was diagnosed at 15 when he was a freshman at Boulder High School, but his older brother was diagnosed much younger, ''so I kind of grew up with it throughout my youth, so I kind of knew what it was all about.'' Like many diabetics, Pericak, a senior who packs 285 pounds on his 6-foot-4 frame, uses a proper balance of diet, medication and exercise to control his disease, which he has come to view as more a blessing than a curse. ''Absolutely. I know it's definitely a challenge for me. But then again I'm more healthy because of it,'' Pericak said. ''It is a disease and it definitely has pros and cons, the pro being I know what I'm eating, I watch what I'm eating. I'm able to understand my body better. And that ends up helping me be able to play my best. If I get low in a game, it may cost us a huge play or something like that.'' Pericak said he's in better tune with his mind and body and more mindful of nutrition because of diabetes and the necessity to maintain proper blood sugar levels. - AP Sports
09/06/2012 - SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: At first glance, it appears Colorado's defense showed improvement by only giving up 22 points against Colorado State. Last year, the Buffs gave up more than that in 11 of 13 games. However, Colorado gave up only 14 points in a win over Colorado State last year, so this year's group started off worse than last year. There were some good signs, as Colorado allowed only 298 yards of total offense and held the Rams to 5-for-15 on third-down conversions. PLAYERS TO WATCH: DL Will Pericak -- The senior had four tackles, including one for loss, to go with a fumble recovery in the opener when he made his team-high 38th straight start. He also blocked an extra point, the third block of his career. He blocked a field goal in 2010 and an extra point last year. - The Sports Xchange
07/20/2012 - Top-five Colorado prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft: 4. DT Will Pericak...Pericak (pronounced pre-check) signed with Colorado as a highly regarded prep linebacker prospect and briefly was considered as a possible convert to tight end. Instead, he got bigger and stronger, quietly developing into one of the more underrated defensive tackles in the Pac-12. After redshirting in 2008, Pericak has started all 37 games since, earning honorable mention all-conference honors (Big 12 in 2010, Pac-12 in 2011) after each of the past two seasons despite less than eye-popping statistics (averaging 38 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks). He was the first player in school history to start every game as a freshman (true or redshirt). Pericak isn't an elite athlete but is country strong, showing the ability to knock opponents back onto their heels with good upper body strength and developing hand play -- traits that could serve him well as a rotational defensive tackle or 3-4 defensive end. While there is a lot to like about the rugged Pericak, scouts will want to do their homework on Pericak. While he subsequently determined by a jury to be not guilty of all charges, Pericak was arrested January 29 in a Boulder-area pub for allegedly lighting a fire in a metal bucket inside the establishment and refusing to leave the premises. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
