12/06/2011 - 2011 ALL-MAC THIRD TEAM (MEDIA): Placekicker - John Potter, Western Michigan, has been selected All-MAC Third Team for the 2011 college football season as voted by the MAC News Media Association. Potter became the program's career scoring leader in 2011 and now holds the mark at 325 points. 11/14/2011 - WEEK 11 MAC WEST DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Western Michigan K John Potter: Senior kicker John Potter (Grand Haven, Mich.) made a career high nine PATs, ranking second in a game in program history, at Toledo. Potter became the MAC's record holder for consecutive PATs made in a career, passing Miami's John Scott (1995-98) and now holds the mark at 114. His nine points gives him 81 points in 2011, the sixth most in a season in program history and ties Brad Selent (1997-2000) for the most points in a career in program history. - MAC football

09/19/2011 - WEEK 3 MAC WEST DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Western Michigan K John Potter: Senior placekicker John Potter (Grand Haven, Mich.) accounted for 14 points in a 44-14 win over Central Michigan with five extra points and a career-matching three field goals (33, 43, 43). Potter moved into second on the Western Michigan's career list for points by a kicker (252) and into fourth on the career total points list. Potter also extended his program record consecutive PATs made streak to 83 straight. Potter had a season best nine kickoffs with a season best four touchbacks. - MAC football

Potter was also true on his only field goal attempt, a 40-yard kick to cap the scoring against Nicholls.
