03/28/2013 - 2013 Georgia Pro Day: Representatives from all 32 NFL teams gathered at Georgia's pro day on Thursday for a workout held outdoors on FieldTurf in approximately 40-degree temperatures. Cornelius Washington, LB (6-4, 263) - Washington ran really well at the combine (officially 4.55 seconds in the 40, which placed him among the top performers in his position group), so he only did the short shuttle (4.75 seconds) and three-cone drill (7.48 seconds) at Georgia's pro day. Washington worked out at linebacker, and the scouts on hand also wanted to see him work out as a defensive lineman with his hand in the ground. However, a pulled hamstring prevented Washington from doing so. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

02/27/2013 - 02/27/13 NFL DRAFT SCOUT RISER: 3. Cornelius Washington, DE, Georgia...The Bulldogs have several defenders who will hear their name called in the 2013 NFL Draft, including notable prospects like Jarvis Jones, Alec Ogletree and John Jenkins. However, one name who is often overlooked is Washington, a versatile pass rusher who turned heads at the Senior Bowl and this past week in Indianapolis. At 6-4 and 265 pounds, he was one of the top performers among several drills, including the 40-yard dash (4.55), bench press (36 reps), vertical leap (39 inches) and broad jump (10-8). Miscast as a down-lineman in the Georgia's three-man front, Washington registered just a half sack as a senior in 2012 and was used to occupy blocks, freeing up room for Jones and the other Bulldog pass rushers. But Washington has the athleticism to be a handful for blockers in his own right. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

01/18/2013 - Defensive end/outside linebacker Cornelius Washington became the sixth player from the 2012 Bulldogs that will take part in the prestigious all-star game in Mobile, Ala. on Jan. 26 (4 p.m. on NFL Network) and the week of practices leading up to the game. Also representing Georgia: receiver Tavarres King, nose guard John Jenkins, safeties Bacarri Ramboand Shawn Williams and cornerback/safetySanders Commings. - Marc Weiszer, The Athens Banner-Herald

07/18/2012 - 2012 BUTKUS AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Cornelius Washington, Georgia, has been selected to the Preseason Butkus Award Watch List for the 2012 college football season, presented to the top linebacker in college football by the Butkus Foundation. Washington, a native of Hephzibah, Ga., started six games and played in 12 last season. He registered 17 tackles, including 5.0 sacks and 6.0 tackles for loss. Washington is preparing to cross-train at defensive end in 2012 after recording three tackles, including a sack, versus #1 LSU in the 2011 SEC Championship Game. - Georgia football
