09/05/2012 - The Colonels not only suffered a 48-6 loss Saturday at Purdue, they also sustained a couple of injuries that could have a big impact on their offense. Senior receiver Tyrone Goard took a helmet to the knee and junior tight Matt Lengel had to leave the field with a knee injury. On Tuesday, EKU coach Dean Hood said he wasn't sure about the extent of the injuries or whether either player would be available for Saturday's home opener against Morehead State. "We won't know for a while yet what we are looking at," Hood said. "Matt will have an MRI (Wednesday), so we will see what that looks like and Tyrone has a concussion, so we are going to play that by ear. Our trainers are great. They have a progression they take them through." Goard had one reception for 16 yards against Purdue. On the play he was injured, the senior was trying to make a catch in the corner of the end zone against two Boilermaker defenders. Last season, Goard had 11 touchdown catches and was a Second-Team All-OVC selection. - Nathan Hutchinson, The Richmond Register
