01/02/2013 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: LB Jon Bostic has been Florida's most consistent defensive player this season. 12/07/2012 - 2012 ALL-SEC SECOND TEAM (COACHES): LB - Jon Bostic, Florida, has been selected Second Team All-Southeastern Conference (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. Bostic has recorded 62 tackles; third-best on the team this season, with 6.5 TFL, three sacks, two interceptions, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and fumble recovery. - Florida football

11/17/2012 - Florida's home schedule ended, fittingly, with the defense bailing out the inconsistent offense with a big play, kicker Caleb Sturgis adding a trio of field goals and senior tailback Mike Gillislee rolling up impressive yardage and key runs, as the Gators beat Jacksonville State, 23-0, on Saturday. Marques Ivory's first pass of the second half, on third-and-10 from his own 2, was picked off by UF linebacker Jon Bostic -- one of 18 players honored on Senior Day -- and returned 7 yards for a touchdown. The Gators avoided a loss to Louisiana-Lafayette last week thanks to a blocked punt that was returned by fellow linebacker Jelani Jenkins for the winning score.

Florida entered the game ranked 12th nationally with a plus-12 margin. Bostic's interception was UF's 16th this season. While going 7-0 at home, the Gators forced three turnovers in a 14-6 win against LSU, recovered three fumbles and got an interception in a 44-11 win over South Carolina and had four picks in a 14-7 win against Missouri. So it was only fitting that, one final time, a defensive play wrapped up another game. - The Sports Xchange

09/15/2012 - SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: Florida has played sound defensively in its first two games this season, giving up only 15.5 points per game. But the Gators have lacked big-plays, forcing only one turnover and making four sacks. Florida's banged up secondary will face a tough test against Tennessee's downfield passing game. CBs Marcus Roberson and Jaylen Watkins will have their hands full with Tennessee WRs Justin Hunter and Cordarrelle Patterson. PLAYERS TO WATCH: LB Jon Bostic -- Bostic has been Florida's steadiest player on defense this season with 13 tackles, three for losses. - The Sports Xchange

09/07/2012 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: LB Jon Bostic -- Coach Will Muschamp named Bostic as Florida's defensive player of the Bowling Green after he finished with eight tackles, including one for a loss. Florida will need more steady tackling from Bostic and could also use a big play or two to help spark the defense. - The Sports Xchange
