At Connecticut's pro day, Williams did the short shuttle in 4.36 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.24 seconds. - Gil Brandt, NFL.com

12/10/2012 - 2012 ALL-BIG EAST FIRST TEAM (COACHES): DL, Trevardo Williams (Unanimous), Connecticut, Sr., Bridgeport, Conn./Canterbury, has been selected First Team All-BIG EAST Conference (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. 11/29/2012 - BIG EAST: NFL DRAFT PROSPECT WATCH - WEEK 13: 2. DE Trevardo Williams, 6-2, 228, Connecticut: Why he has the second spot: Facing one of the nation's top quarterbacks in Teddy Bridgewater, Williams put on a show in the Huskies stunning 23-20 upset win. The UConn senior defensive end was menacing on the outside in recording three sacks and four TFLs. Williams led a defense that held the Cardinals' explosive offense to just 10 points in regulation. The Huskies' defensive end ranks in the top 5 in FBS in sacks per game (1.05) and already has set the school record for career sacks (30). Williams has explosive speed off the edge, he just needs to add some bulk before he moves on to the next level. Season stats (11 games): 11.5 sacks, 13.5 TFLs, 42 tackles, 1 FF.

Player ranking: Williams is ranked No. 126 overall and 13th among outside linebackers in CBSSports.com's latest player rankings. Up next: The Huskies wrap up the regular season on Saturday vs. Cincinnati. With a win, UConn will become bowl eligible. With a loss, Williams' collegiate career will come to an end. Saturday, 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC). - Matt Rybaltowski, CBSSports.com

11/26/2012 - WEEK 13 BIG EAST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Trevardo Williams, Sr., DE, Connecticut, Bridgeport, Conn.,...Williams was tabbed as BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after he had seven tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks to key Connecticut's defensive effort in the Huskies' 23-20 triple-overtime win at No. 19/18 Louisville, keeping the Huskies in contention for bowl eligibility. He helped Connecticut hold Louisville to just 27 rushing yards, while the 20 points scored by Louisville were the fewest for the Cardinals this season. Williams has 30.5 sacks in his career, which puts him first among all active BIG EAST players and second among active players nationally. - BIG EAST football

11/09/2012 - THIS WEEK'S GAME: Pittsburgh at Connecticut, Nov. 9 -- One Panther who may not be looking forward to this game is Ray Graham. Not only is Connecticut's defense tough to run against, it was against the Huskies that he suffered the injury that cost him the rest of the 2011 season. KEYS TO THE GAME: The Huskies have to score. It sounds obvious, but Connecticut has averaged barely eight points a game in Big East play, and even doubling that might not be enough against the Panthers. PLAYERS TO WATCH: DE Trevardo Williams became the Huskies all-time sack leader last week, but his senior season hasn't gone as expected. He'll be key in making life difficult for Pitt quarterback Tino Sunseri. - The Sports Xchange

10/17/2012 - BIG EAST: NFL DRAFT PROSPECT WATCH - WEEK 7: 2. DE Trevardo Williams, 6-1, 234, Connecticut: Why he has the top spot: Though Rutgers arguably has one of the top defenses in the nation, Scarlet Knights coach Kyle Flood still has described Williams as the most disruptive defensive lineman in the conference. Williams has blinding speed off the edge, he just needs to add some extra bulk before playing on Sundays. The senior defensive lineman reached 7.5 sacks with one in last week's defeat against Temple. Williams needs just one more to set the school's all-time career mark (27). A matchup against Syracuse LT Justin Pugh, another highly-ranked prospect, could provide a stage for Williams to showcase his pass-rushing moves. Season stats (six games): Williams has 7.5 sacks, 9 TFLs, 30 tackles and a forced fumble. Player ranking: Williams is ranked 109th overall and is the 10th highest outside linebacker in CBSSports.com latest player rankings. Up next: at Syracuse, Friday, 8:00 p.m. ET (ESPN). - Matt Rybaltowski, CBSSports.com

10/02/2012 - BIG EAST: NFL DRAFT PROSPECT WATCH - WEEK 5: 1. DE Trevardo Williams, 6-1, 234, Connecticut: Why he has the top spot: Earlier this week, Rutgers coach Kyle Flood described Williams as the most disruptive defensive lineman in the conference. Williams has Dwight Freeney-type speed off the edge, he just needs to add some extra bulk before entering the next level. The senior defensive lineman notched yet another sack, giving him 6.5 sacks on the season, in last week's win over Buffalo. Williams needs just two more to set the school's all-time career mark (27). Saturday's game at Rutgers could provide a stage for Williams to showcase his pass-rushing moves. Season stats (five games): 6.5 sacks, 7.5 TFLs, 24 tackles, 1 FF. Player ranking: Williams is ranked 87th overall and the eighth-highest outside linebacker in CBSSports.com latest player rankings. Up next: at Rutgers, Saturday 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN U). - Matt Rybaltowski, CBSSports.com

09/11/2012 - BIG EAST: PLAYERS WHOSE NFL DRAFT STOCK IS RISING - WEEK 2: Trevardo Williams, Connecticut: Like Stewart, Williams was a problem for the opposing offensive line. Williams finished Saturday's loss to North Carolina State with 2.5 sacks, leading the Huskie defense that finished with six sacks in total. If nothing else, Williams will have plenty opportunities to make his mark, as the UConn offense has not been able to stay on the field long. - Evan Hilbert, CBSSports.com

08/01/2012 - 2012 PRESEASON TED HENDRICKS AWARD WATCH LIST: TREVARDO WILLIAMS, CONNECTICUT, has been selected a preseason candidate for the 2012 Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award. On-field performance, exceptional winning attitude, leadership abilities, contributions to school and community and academic preparedness are some of the criteria used to determine the Award's winner. Williams was honored as a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection as a junior after leading UConn with 12.5 sacks and was second in tackles for loss with 15.0. He totaled 43 tackles on the season, while ranking second in the country and first in the BIG EAST with 1.04 sacks per game. Williams' 19 career sacks currently rank him sixth all-time at Connecticut. - UConn football

07/30/2012 - Amid a backdrop that fades from yellow to orange to a fiery red, a lion stares off the page. Its features - the whiskers, the extra hairs on the mane, the definition of the massive leg muscles - are sketched with such precision. The lion gazes back at you, its mouth closed and its eyes blank. It's not angry, but certainly menacing. Really, it just looks calm. Of all the free-hand drawings UConn senior defensive end Trevardo Williams has completed, he's most proud of this one. "It represents pride and loyalty," he says. "There's a lot of meaning behind it." The best football player out of Bridgeport since the turn of the century, Williams bears some resemblance to the lion: his stare suggests focus and quiet confidence. His arms are bulging, big enough to dismiss the "too small for a defensive end" story line that has followed him for three years. Williams, who begins preseason practice Friday with UConn, can make magic with a pencil and paper - "I could draw you right now," he says -- but he prefers not to share his work. In general, he likes privacy. He keeps only a few close friends on the UConn football team, he says, and fewer back home. His voice is soft, whether he's making jokes about the Storrs campus - "People here don't ever look when they cross the street, they're like squirrels" - or speaking about his goals for the upcoming season. "I want to get 16 sacks," he says. If it sounds too lofty, consider this: Williams, seven pounds heavier than he was a year ago, racked up 12.5 sacks as a junior, which ranked fifth in the nation. He enters his senior campaign with 19 career sacks, just eight behind the school's all-time leader, Mark Michaels. - Kevin Duffy, The Connecticut Post

07/20/2012 - 2012 ROTARY LOMBARDI AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Trevardo Williams, DE, U Conn, has been selected to the Preseason Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List for the 2012 college football season, presented the nation's top college lineman or linebacker each year by The Rotary Club of Houston. Williams was honored as a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection as a junior after leading Connecticut with 12.2 sacks and was second in tackles for loss with 15.0. He totaled 43 tackles on the season, 20 of which came in the final five games of the season. Williams ranked second in the country and first in the BIG EAST 1.04 sacks per game. His 19 career sacks currently rank sixth all-time at UConn. Earlier this off-season, Williams was selected for both the Bednarik and Nagurski Award Watch Lists. - UConn football

07/18/2012 - 2012 BRONKO NAGURSKI TROPHY PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Trevardo Williams, DE, Connecticut, has been selected to the Preseason Bronko Nagurski Trophy Award Watch List for the 2012 college football season. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is presented to the National Defensive Player of the Year by the Charlotte Touchdown Club and the Football Writers Association of America. - UConn football

07/10/2012 - 2012 BEDNARIK AWARD PRESEASON WATCHLIST: Trevardo Williams, Connecticut, DE, Sr., has been selected to the preseason Bednarik Award watchlist for the 2012 college football season. The Bednarik Award has been presented to the nation's top defensive player since 1995. A former standout at Penn and with the Philadelphia Eagles, Chuck Bednarik is a member of both the College Football Hall of Fame's Class of 1969 and the NFL Hall of Fame's Class of 1967. - UConn football

06/26/2012 - Top-five Connecticut prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft: 5. DE/OLB Trevardo Williams (6-1, 231)...The Huskies know that the loss of not only star Kendall Reyes but fellow starting defensive tackle Twyon Martin will hurt so they're hoping for big seasons from returning impact defensive ends Jesse Joseph and Williams. Joseph has been the more consistent player of his career and he enters his senior campaign having already started 34 games. While obviously undersized, Williams' ability to wreak havoc on quarterbacks will earn him considerable attention from scouts. Williams emerged as one of the nation's most feared pass rushers last season, registering 12.5 sacks, including nine in the final five games. With 12.5 sacks over 12 games last season, Williams joined Houston Texans' first round pick Whitney Mercilus in being one of only two players in the FBS to average more than a sack per game. While he lines up at defensive end in UCONN's scheme, to make it in the NFL Williams will have to prove that he has the flexibility, speed and instincts to handle the shift to outside linebacker. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
