05/12/2014 - A closer look at the Bears' picks: Round 7/246 -- Charles Leno Jr., T, 6-4, 302, Boise State...Started every game his final three seasons, the last two at left tackle. He is regarded by many personnel people as a guard candidate, not a tackle, but he does have the arm length of a tackle at 34 1/2 inches. He has decent speed out of his stance when pulling to block. The aim will be to develop him. Emery said he will be immediate competition for backup left tackle. Also, Jordan Mills struggled as a pass blocker at right tackle and frequently got help from extra tackle Eben Britton in a six-lineman formation. So if he learns quickly, it's not unreasonable for him to challenge for a starting spot. Leno also has guard experience. - The Sports Xchange

04/21/2014 - Five players who should be on the Green Bay Packers' draft radar: OT Charles Leno, Boise State: Given the losses of Evan Dietrich-Smith and Marshall Newhouse, the Packers will be looking for young, athletic offensive linemen to develop. Leno is a lean athletic player whose experience lies on the outside, where he started 36 consecutive games for the Broncos. His developing frame, however, could handle another 10-15 pounds and allow him to move inside, if his future NFL team needed him there. Some scouts, in fact, project him there. Leno has some quiet buzz to him and therefore if the Packers want him, they may have to nab him early on Day Three. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

12/18/2013 - 2013 ALL-MOUNTAIN WEST FIRST TEAM (COACHES/MEDIA): OL Charles Leno Jr., Sr., Boise State,...Leno, a second-team honoree in 2012, has started 38-consecutive games for Boise State, including each of the last 25 at left tackle. He was a key member of an offense that finished the regular season ranked tied for 16th-nationally in scoring offense (38.8) and 24th-nationally in total offense. - Boise State football

09/20/2013 - The Broncos (2-1, 1-0) appear to have turned things around following their disastrous 38-6 season-opening loss at Washington, averaging 52.5 points in back-to-back home wins over Tennessee-Martin and Air Force. Quarterback Joe Southwick, who struggled badly against the Huskies, rebounded to set a school and Mountain West single-game record for passing efficiency (93.1 percent) against Air Force, completing 27-of-29 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown.

GAME PREVIEW: at Fresno State, Friday. It wouldn't be surprising to see these two teams playing again on Dec. 7 in the Mountain West's first conference championship game. The Broncos have dominated the series against the Bulldogs, winning seven in a row and 11 of the last 12 including a 20-10 win in Boise last year. The Broncos will need to find a way to pressure Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr, who has completed 71 percent of his passes for 661 yards and eight touchdowns in two games. - The Sports Xchange

His streak of 26-consecutive starts is the longest on the Boise State football team. - Boise State football

07/17/2013 - 2013 OUTLAND TROPHY WATCH LIST: Charles Leno, Boise State, OT...Leno is one of 25 offensive tackles on the 75-player watch list for the Outland Trophy, which has been awarded to an offensive tackle each of the last three seasons. He is one of only four players from the MW on the list. Leno was named second-team All-MW in 2012 after starting each of the team's 13 games at left tackle, and was a member of an offensive line unit that ranked sixth-nationally in sacks allowed (0.77 per game).
