04/30/2012 - A closer look at the Vikings' picks: Round 7/219 - Trevor Guyton, DT, 6-3, 285, California...The Vikings are loaded at the position, but have a history of not passing on promising young pass rushers. - The Sports Xchange

10/13/2011 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: DE Trevor Guyton did not practice on Sunday, Oct. 9, because of an undisclosed injury. It's unclear whether he'll play against USC, but he is one of the Bears' best pass rushers and would be missed. - The Sports Xchange

09/09/2011 - WEEK 2, FIVE MATCHUPS TO WATCH: 5. Colorado RG Ryan Miller vs. California DE Trevor Guyton...The Buffs and Bears faced off as non-conference foes last year, but Colorado's defection to the newly-enhanced Pac-12 means they could meet regularly in the future. With potential battles in the trenches like Miller v. Guyton, scouts are certainly in favor of this change in the college football landscape. Miller has the body of a right tackle (listed at 6-8, 295) but has played inside the past couple of seasons. He faced Cal's star end, Cameron Jordan, in 2010, allowing him to win too many one-on-one battles with quick hands, as well as sneak off his block after initial contact to reach ballcarriers. If Guyton can use his quickness advantage to beat Miller on passing plays and disengage with a strong punch and violent hands as Jordan did, NFL teams looking for a starting five-technique will push him up their boards. If Miller latches onto Guyton and other defenders, using his size to control them, he'll gain ground on other interior line prospects in the draft class. - Chad Reuter, NFLDraftScout.com

08/29/2011 - The loss of RB Shane Vereen and DE Cam Jordan create voids in two spots that have been strengths for the Bears in recent years. It's unclear whether Isi Sofele can be the consistent ground-gainer Cal needs, even though the offensive line should be adequate. Cal needs someone to replace Jordan as a big-play performer and pass-rusher in its front three. Maybe Trevor Guyton can do it, but it's certainly not a sure thing. And, of course, the quarterback position remains a major concern until Zach Maynard proves he can move the team consistently and minimize turnovers. - The Sports Xchange

06/03/2011 - STARS OF 2011: NT Trevor Guyton played defensive end in Cal's 3-4 most of the season and wound up with 8.5 tackles for loss, including 4.5 sacks, but he did his best work while playing the nose tackle position late in the season. He used his quickness to great advantage in the middle, and it will be interesting to see how Pendergast uses him next season, especially with the addition of freshman DT Viliami Moala. - The Sports Xchange
