12/12/2012 - 2012 COACHES ALL-ACC FOOTBALL SECOND TEAM: OT-Emmett Cleary, Boston College, 6-7, 313, Sr.-R, Arlington Heights, Ill. (9), has been selected Second Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference (Coaches selection) for the 2012 college football season. This year, for the first time under the auspices of the ACC, the league's 12 head football coaches voted for an All-ACC football team.

Cleary, a 6-foot-7, 313-pound senior, started all 12 games at left tackle this fall. He blocked for junior quarterback Chase Rettig, who became just the fourth quarterback in BC history to throw for more than 3,000 yards. Cleary, who started all 24 games on the offensive line over the last two years, blocked for tailback Rolandan Finch, who recorded back-to-back 100-yard rushing efforts - 138 yards against Virginia Tech (Nov. 17) and 144 at NC State (Nov. 24) - to close the season. - Boston College football

11/26/2012 - 2012 ALL-ACC SECOND TEAM (MEDIA): TIE OT-Emmett Cleary, Boston College (21)...has been named Second Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference for the 2012 college football season by the ACC Media Association. Cleary, a 6-foot-7, 313-pound senior, started all 12 games at left tackle this fall. He blocked for junior quarterback Chase Rettig, who became just the fourth quarterback in BC history to throw for more than 3,000 yards. 06/13/2012 - Top-five Boston College prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft: 4. OT Emmett Cleary (6-7, 300)...The Boston College program is known for producing tough, hard-nosed offensive linemen, and Cleary could be the next NFL-quality blocker out of Chestnut Hill. In fact, he was so intrigued by "O-line U" as a high school recruit that the Illinois-product chose the Eagles over several Big Ten programs. Cleary isn't the most physically-gifted big man, but he offers intriuging size (6-7, 300) and enough mobility to handle speed rushers off the edge. However, Cleary's most appealing attribute to NFL scouts might be his versatility, seeing time at both tackle and guard in college. Over his first three seasons, he started 26 games for Boston College (18 at right tackle and eight at left guard), but moved to left tackle in the spring and is expected to protect QB Chase Rettig's blindside in 2012. Cleary is far from a guarantee to be drafted, but with a strong senior season he has the pedigree to earn a late round selection. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
