12/29/2012 - TCU is a tradition-rich program that can point to greats such as Sammy Baugh, Davey O'Brien, Jim Swink and Bob Lilly. All of them starred in the Southwest Conference. When that league disbanded, however, TCU was not welcome in the new Big 12. It was forced to re-establish its credentials and did so by rising from its mid-major status to crash the BCS. Its 2011 victory over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl capped an undefeated season and made TCU attractive to the Big 12.

The Frogs have won six of their last seven bowl appearances. They are making a bowl appearance for the eighth straight season and stand 13-13-1 all-time in the postseason. 07/18/2012 - 2012 OUTLAND TROPHY PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Blaize Foltz, TCU, G, has been selected to the Preseason Outland Trophy Watch List for the 2012 college football season, which goes to the best interior lineman in college football, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America. Foltz was a first-team all-conference selection last season. With his bench press of 580 pounds and squat of 800 pounds, Foltz was named to "The Freak List: The 10 craziest athletes in college football" by Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com. A senior from Rose Hill, Kan., Foltz appeared on the Yahoo! Sports All-Bowl Team last season for his performance in the Horned Frogs' Poinsettia Bowl victory over Louisiana Tech. Foltz anchored an offensive line last season that paved the way for TCU to rank ninth nationally in scoring (40.8 points) and among the leaders in rushing (208.6 yards) and total offense (440.2 yards). He was key in the Horned Frogs placing fourth nationally in third-down conversions (52.0 percent) and 15th in fewest sacks allowed per game (1.0). 07/13/2012 - Top-five TCU prospects for the 2013 NFL Draft: 5. OG Blaize Foltz (6-4, 310)...Expected to be a steadying force along the offensive line for the Horned Frogs since playing in all 12 games and starting two as a redshirt freshman in 2009, Foltz suffered a torn ACL midway through the 2010 season and didn't emerge as a standout until last year. Starting all 12 games at right guard, Foltz earned First Team All-Mountain West honors and was recognized by our own Bruce Feldman as one of this year's "Freak" athletes due to his incredible weight-room strength. Foltz is credited with a bench press of 580 pounds, an 800 pound squat, an incline bench of 530 pounds and a 430 pound clean and jerk. "Honestly, we've gotten to a point where we stop him now for safety sake," TCU offensive line coach Eddie Williamson told Feldman. "He could probably do even more than what those numbers indicate if we didn't. Foltz wasn't the dominator in 2011 that his all-conference accolades and weight-room strength would indicate but should have greater flexibility with another year removed from the injury, potentially earning middle to late round consideration in April. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

05/08/2012 - 2012 College Football Freaks List: 9. Blaize Foltz, TCU, OG: The Horned Frogs O-line had a Freak a few years back in agile giant Marcus Cannon (a 350-pounder who could do a double front flip off a diving board.) Foltz, a first-team All-MWC guard in 2011, doesn't possess that kind of flexibility, but he's probably as strong as any man in college football. The 6-4, 310-pound movement science major benches 580 pounds, squats 800, incline benches 530 and has cleaned 430. "Honestly, we've gotten to a point where we stop him now for safety sake," says TCU O-line coach Eddie Williamson. "He could probably do even more than what those numbers indicate if we didn't." - Bruce Feldman, CBS Sports
