04/30/2013 - Indianapolis Colts Sign Nine Undrafted Free Agents...Swanson, 5-11, 185 pounds, graduated Sam Houston State as the school's all-time leader in interceptions (14), while finishing second in all-time interception return yards (228). In addition, he recorded 129 tackles (96 solo), 43 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in 41 career games. Over his final two seasons, he paced the Bearkats in interceptions and passes defensed. As a junior in 2011, Swanson set a school record, led the Southland Conference and ranked No. 3 nationally with eight interceptions. 03/29/2013 - 2013 Sam Houston State Pro Day: SHSU's Daxton Swanson forced to have separate workout...A total of 10 players worked out at Sam Houston State's pro day on March 19, and NFL Scouting Combine invitee Daxton Swanson held off his workout until Thursday. Swanson (5-foot-11 1/2, 180 pounds), a cornerback, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.43 and 4.48 seconds. He had a 33 1/2-inch vertical jump. He ran the short shuttle in 4.34 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.98 seconds. Swanson stood on his broad jump effort from the combine. Swanson will be selected in the 2013 NFL Draft. Running back Timothy Flanders was a first-team running back, while Darnell Taylor was a first-team defensive back. They were joined on the first team by tight end T.J. Jones, offensive linemen Kaleb Hopson and Chris Rogers, all-purpose player Richard Sincere, defensive lineman J.T. Cleveland, linebacker Darius Taylor, defensive back Dax Swanson and punter Matt Foster. The Bearkats' six second-team honorees include quarterback Brian Bell, receiver and kick return specialist Trey Diller, defensive lineman Gary Lorance and defensive backs Kenneth Jenkins and Bookie Sneed.
