06/05/2012 - Marshall's Thundering Herd football team added some depth to its secondary with the enrollment of former Boston College safeties Dominick LeGrande and Okechukwu Okoroha. LeGrande and Okoroha are graduate transfers enrolled in Marshall graduate school and have immediate eligibility for the 2012 season. They didn't play last season at Boston College, but both players graduated in four years. "We are excited to have these two young men in our program," Marshall head coach Doc Holliday said in a news release. "These additions will help bolster the depth in our secondary immediately." LeGrande, a 6-foot-3, 211-pound free safety from Staten Island, N.Y., made the decision to transfer before the 2011 season. The 23-year-old played for three seasons at Boston College, starting six times in 35 game appearances. His career totals were 72 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions and one quarterback sack. He was an all-state quarterback at Curtis High School while also playing defensive back for the Warriors. He captured New York Daily News newspaper Player of the Year honors in 2007. Okoroha, 22, is a 6-1, 205-pound free safety from Lanham, Md. He was dismissed from the Boston College team for disciplinary reasons prior to the 2011 season. - The Herald-Dispatch
