05/13/2014 - Eagles Sign 15 Rookie Free Agents: Trey Burton, TE - Florida...A versatile player that appeared in 50 games at the University of Florida, Burton finished his four-year career with the Gators with 720 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 141 carries while adding 107 catches for 976 yards and four touchdowns. As a senior captain in 2013, Burton moved to wide receiver full-time after playing multiple positions his first three years and finished third on the team with 38 receptions for 445 yards and one touchdown. Burton was named to the 2010 SEC All-Freshman Team after seeing action at quarterback, fullback, tight end, wide receiver and on kick coverage. A native of Venice, FL, Burton passed for 1,876 yards with 18 touchdowns and only one interception and rushed for 821 yards with 22 touchdowns as a senior at Venice High School in 2009. - PhiladelphiaEagles.com

09/07/2013 - Scouting the Florida passing game: Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel chose not to force the deep ball against Toledo because it wasn't there. "Those plays will come," Driskel said. As a result, Driskel averaged just 9 yards per completion (153 yards on 17 completions). WR Solomon Patton dropped a potential long gain in the second half. Slot receiver Trey Burton was a prime target, finishing with a team-high 69 yards receiving on five catches. FB Gideon Ajagbe also showed soft hands out of the backfield with two catches for 16 yards, including a 5-yard TD catch. - The Sports Xchange

08/21/2013 - OTHER FLORIDA PROSPECTS WORTH WATCHING: WR Trey Burton (6-2, 225, 4.56)...While many of Florida's most talented players have transitioned well from former head coach Urban Meyer's schemes to Muschamp's, Burton has watched his production plummet. He exploded onto the SEC in 2010, scoring 12 touchdowns while logging action at QB, FB, WR, TE and on special teams. In the two seasons since a more traditional offense was put in place, however, Burton has scored just five times while splitting duties mostly between receiver and running out of the Wildcat formation. Burton does not possess elite lateral agility but he's a smooth accelerator for a receiver of his size and has good ball skills. He's expected to line up out of the slot this year which could result in his most impressive numbers since 2010. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

07/12/2013 - 2013 PAUL HORNUNG AWARD WATCH LIST: Trey Burton, Florida, has been selected one of 44 players named to the 2013 Paul Hornung Award Watch List, given annually to "the most versatile player in major college football" by the Louisville Sports Commission. - Florida football
