05/12/2014 - A closer look at the Jets' picks: Round 5/154 -- Jeremiah George, ILB, 5-11, 234, Iowa State...The Jets needed to get younger at inside linebacker, where David Harris is 30 and entering his eighth NFL season. George likely dropped because of his size, but he was productive as a collegian -- he led the Big 12 with 133 tackles last year -- and will get the chance to apprentice behind Harris, who is a free agent after 2014. - The Sports Xchange

12/12/2013 - 2013 ASSOCIATED PRESS ALL-BIG 12 FIRST TEAM: LB Jeremiah George, Iowa St., 5-11, 219, Sr., Clearwater, Fla.,...A native of Clearwater, Fla., George capped off his outstanding Cyclone career in 2013 by leading the Big 12 and ranking fourth nationally in tackles at 11.1. George, who was ISU's leader in sacks (3.5), tackles for loss (12.0), forced fumbles (3) and interceptions (2), registered double digits in tackles in nine of 12 games during the year. - Iowa State football

12/12/2013 - 2013 ALL-BIG 12 HONORABLE MENTION (COACHES): Jeremiah George (Def. PoY)...George capped off his outstanding Cyclone career in 2013 by leading the Big 12 and ranking fourth nationally in tackles at 11.1. George, who was ISU's leader in sacks (3.5), tackles for loss (12.0), forced fumbles (3) and interceptions (2), registered double digits in tackles in nine of 12 games during the year. - Iowa State football

10/03/2013 - Scouting the Iowa State run defense: ISU's made big strides in stopping the run. The Cyclones have had only 14 missed tackles in their last two games. Texas wants to establish the run, with running back Johnathan Gray churning out 350 yards. It will be hard for the Cyclones to win here if they don't make the Longhorns one dimensional. - The Sports Xchange

10/03/2013 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: LB Jeremiah George is back to playing at an all-conference-type level. He recorded 12 tackles at Tulsa. The ISU defense plays its best when George is it's the biggest playmaker. ISU will need another big game from him vs. Texas. - The Sports Xchange

09/12/2013 - Scouting the Iowa State run defense: The game could very well be decided on if Iowa State can improve its rush defense. The Cyclones allowed more than 200 rushing yards in the opener. Iowa is a run-first squad. Running back Mark Weisman has rushed for 280 yards in two games. If Iowa State can't stop the Iowa run the Hawkeyes could rely on Weisman to carry the team to victory. - The Sports Xchange

08/28/2013 - Linebacker Jeremiah George was a part-time starter for the first half of last season, seeing more playing time when ISU used three linebacker sets instead of two backer sets. He filled in for all-conference linebacker Jake Knott when Knott suffered a season-ending injury last October. Now, George is being asked to essentially replace Knott as the playmaking linebacker in the ISU defense. George recorded 87 tackles last season and is prepared to take on a bigger role this fall. "I am going into this season like I have to be that guy," George said. "Last year my role was to help stop the run and come in when necessary. This year I won't be leaving the field, but I still have to help stop the run and help be a strength in the pass game." - The Sports Xchange

08/12/2013 - TOP IOWA STATE PROSPECTS FOR THE 2014 NFL DRAFT: 3. MLB Jeremiah George (5-11, 225, 4.59)...While Jake Knott was Iowa State's weak-side linebacker last season, the Cyclones basically had two "Mike" linebackers with A.J. Klein and George who both played inside and outside. In his first season as a starter in 2012, George started nine games and finished third on the team in tackles (87), adding four tackles for loss.

An active, rangy linebacker, he plays with good field speed and the attacking mentality coaches seek at the position. George's lack of height is tough to ignore, but he has packed on a lot of muscle to his frame and plays bigger than he looks. He is soft spoken off the field, but the coaches expect him to take on more of a leadership role in 2013 and if George elevates his game as a senior, the NFL might take notice. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

08/12/2013 - PLAYERS TO WATCH IN 2013: LB Jeremiah George is coming off a season where his 87 tackles were third on the team. With star linebackers A.J. Klein and Jake Knott off to the NFL the Cyclones will need George to increase his production in 2013 and become the defensive playmakers Klein and Knott were over the last three seasons. - The Sports Xchange

07/17/2013 - 2013 BUTKUS AWARD WATCH LIST: Jeremiah George, Iowa State...A native of Clearwater, Fla, George started nine games at linebacker last season, compiling 87 stops with four tackles for loss. He posted a career-high 17 tackles, including 13 solo stops, vs. Oklahoma. He averaged 9.8 tackles per game in the last five games of the season. George, who is one of five returning starters on defense for the Cyclones, was a preseason All-Big 12 pick by both Athlon's and Phil Steele. - Iowa State football
