Actually, he ran a seventh back on the opening play in UCF's bowl game against Georgia two years ago. A UCF flag brought it back, but coaches say the message that seeing McDuffie race past the Dawgs proved quite a catalyst for the Knights who went on to knock off the big boys from the SEC. 12/06/2012 - 2012 CONFERENCE USA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR: The Special Teams Player of the Year award went to UCF senior kick returner Quincy McDuffie. The versatile McDuffie ranks second in the FBS in kickoff return average at 34.2, the second-highest figure in league history. He has returned 17 kickoffs for 582 yards, including three for touchdowns (tied for second among all FBS players). McDuffie tied an NCAA record, and set a C-USA and UCF record with two kickoff returns for a touchdown at Marshall Oct. 27. It has now happened just 17 times in NCAA history. McDuffie, who also has three rushing and three receiving TDs this season, is the school's all-time leader in returns (90), yards (2,501) and touchdowns (six). - Conference USA football
11/24/2012 - Quincy McDuffie ran for three touchdowns and Blake Bortles threw for two scores to lead Central Florida to a 49-24 win over Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday. With the win, UCF (9-3, 7-1) clinched Conference USA's East Division title and will face Tulsa in the conference championship game next Saturday. McDuffie had scoring runs of 9, 8 and 43 yards in his final home game for Central Florida.
Bortles, who completed 17 of 23 for 225 yards, hit J.J. Worton with scoring passes of 18 and 4 yards. Lyle Dankenbring returned an interception 78 yards for a score as the Knights took advantage of numerous Blazer mistakes to jump out to a 35-10 halftime lead. Jonathan Perry threw for 307 yards, two touchdown passes and a rushing score for UAB (3-9, 2-6). 10/08/2012 - WEEK 6 CONFERENCE USA SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: After East Carolina scored on a 76-yard pass to make it 14-0 with 6:09 left in the first quarter, UCF had lost any momentum to open the game. But, on the ensuing kickoff, UCF senior KR Quincy McDuffie used perfect blocking to return the kick 99 yards to the house and cut ECU's lead in half. The Knights would score 20 unanswered points to help complete the 40-20 comeback victory in its C-USA opener Oct. 4. For McDuffie, it was his fourth-career kickoff return for a touchdown, which tied the school record (he has 2,080 career yards and needs just 41 more kickoff return yards to tie the school record). He also added two receptions for 67 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter to push UCF's lead to 30-20. 10/07/2012 - WR/KR Quincy McDuffie's 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown was the 16th kickoff returned for a score in UCF history and the first since Latavius Murray took one 69 yards last November against Southern Miss -- also the Knights' next opponent.
09/17/2012 - WR/KR Quincy McDuffie climbed to second on UCF's career list of kickoff returg yardage leaders, tallying 23 yards to give him 1,952 for his career. Ted Wilson (1983-86) holds the record with 2,121 yards.
