12/14/2012 - 2012 ALL-SUN BELT CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (COACHES & MEDIA): Jack Doyle (WKU, Sr., TE), has been selected First Team All-Sun Belt Conference (Coaches & Media selection) for the 2012 college football season. Doyle is on the all-conference team for the second straight season after earning a second-team selection in 2011. The Indianapolis, Ind., native was one of eight national semifinalist for the 2012 John Mackey Award in 2012. He led WKU in both receptions (47) and receiving yards (530) from the tight end position - the second straight year he has led the team in both categories.
Doyle averaged 11.3 yards per catch and 44.2 yards per game. He recorded at least one catch in all 12 games, and had at least three receptions in 11 contests. He posted a season-best seven receptions against #1 Alabama, while racking up a season-high 82 receiving yards against Louisiana-Monroe. 10/11/2012 - SCOUTING THE OFFENSE: The Hilltoppers were shutout in the first half against Arkansas State -- yet still put up 26 points and 365 yards of total offense. As was the case in 2011, the WKU offense continues to grow stronger as the weeks go on. 07/21/2012 - 2012 PRESEASON ALL-SUN BELT TEAM (COACHES/SELECT MEDIA): Jack Doyle (WKU, Sr., TE)...Doyle - who was a second-team all-conference selection at the end of the 2011 season - is on the preseason watch list for the John Mackey Award for the second straight season. The Indianapolis, Ind., senior led the Hilltoppers in receiving last season, hauling in 52 catches for 614 yards. He eclipsed 100 receiving yards three times, posting a career-best 106 receiving yards on seven grabs against Louisiana-Lafayette. His other two 100-yard games also came in SBC contests, finishing with 100 yards against Middle Tennessee and 101 in the season finale against Troy. For the season, Doyle averaged 11.8 yards per reception and 51.2 yards per game. His 52 catches also rank tied for fifth on WKU's single season list. - WKU football

Doyle - a native of Indianapolis, Ind. - is the only Sun Belt Conference tight end among the 33 student-athletes on the preseason Mackey Award list. He is also one of 11 tight ends from last year's preseason watch list to appear on the list again in 2012. In addition to being named to the preseason list last season, Doyle was also one of 25 players named when the Mackey Award announced its midseason watch list. A second-team all-Sun Belt Conference selection in 2011, Doyle led the Hilltoppers in receiving last year, hauling in 52 catches for 614 yards. He averaged 11.8 yards per catch and 51.2 yards per game a year ago, and his 52 receptions rank fifth on WKU's single-season list.
