08/30/2013 - Jeff Scott ran 75 yards for a touchdown with 1:07 left, and Mississippi rallied twice Thursday night to beat Vanderbilt 39-35 in a wild season opener for both teams. Vanderbilt went up 35-32 on a 34-yard TD pass from Austyn Carta-Samuels to Stephen Scheu with 1:30 left. But Scott beat the Commodores for a TD and the fourth lead change. Vanderbilt had a final chance to extend the Southeastern Conference's longest winning streak, but Cody Prewitt intercepted a pass off Jordan Matthews' hands with 26 seconds left. That allowed the Rebels to snap a three-game skid to Vanderbilt.

Bo Wallace keyed the Rebels' rally from 11 points down running for two touchdowns and connecting with highly touted freshman Laquon Treadwell for the 2-point conversion. The Commodores gave up 29 points in the second half, their most since allowing 20 to Florida in their last loss Oct. 13. The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for Vanderbilt before its first sellout in a home season opener since 1996 against Notre Dame. - AP Sports

08/29/2013 - PLAYERS TO WATCH: RB Jeff Scott was named to several All-SEC preseason teams after he rushed for 846 yards and six scores as a junior in 2012. Scott is back, and with more depth behind him the Florida native could see extended looks in the return game. Scott is already listed as the Rebels' No. 1 punt returner, a luxury Ole Miss was not afforded last year. - The Sports Xchange

08/26/2013 - PLAYERS TO WATCH IN 2013: RB Jeff Scott flirted with entering the NFL Draft, but chose to come back to Ole Miss for his senior season. He's led Ole Miss in rushing the last two seasons, but still can improve in short-yardage situations. - The Sports Xchange

08/26/2013 - OTHER MISSISSIPPI PROSPECTS WORTH WATCHING: RB Jeff Scott (5-07, 175, 4.52)...Like Sawyer on the defensive side of the ball, Scott's athleticism has allowed Ole Miss coaches to move him all over the field on offense and special teams. He has logged action at running back, wide receiver and as punt and kick returner, and enters his senior campaign with 2,966 all-purpose yards and 17 touchdowns to his credit. Scott led the Rebels with 846 rushing yards a season ago, demonstrating great elusiveness and burst. His ability to fill multiple roles could earn him a Day 3 selection despite his obvious size limitations. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com
