03/08/2013 - 2013 Mississippi Pro Day: Representatives from 12 NFL teams gathered at Mississippi's pro day, where 20 players worked out. The event was held indoors and the players ran indoors on FieldTurf. No player from Ole Miss was at the NFL Scouting Combine. Gilbert Pena, NT (6-foot-2 1/2, 330 pounds) - Pena ran the 40-yard dash in 5.52 and 5.51 seconds, ran the short shuttle in 4.88 seconds and had a 7.88-second three-cone drill. He had a 24-inch vertical jump and a 8-foot-0 broad jump. He also had 23 lifts of 225 pounds on the bench press. 03/06/2013 - Ole Miss did not have a player invited to this year's NFL Combine, so Thursday's Pro Day will take on added importance for all involved. That's a group of 21, including 16 seniors from the 2012 team that went 7-6 and won the BBVA Compass Bowl. 03/01/2013 - Ole Miss' football program will host its Pro Day next Thursday, March 7, while spring practice will begin Sunday, March 17. The Rebels' first spring workout will begin at 3 p.m., with most of the other practices scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. All practices are open to the public.
The Grove Bowl, Ole Miss' spring game, is set for Saturday, April 13, at 1 p.m. at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The Rebels went 7-6 in their first season under head coach Hugh Freeze, defeating Pittsburgh 38-17 in the BBVA Compass Bowl. - Mississippi football
