02/17/2014 - 2014 NFL COMBINE SNUB: Linebacker - Morgan Breslin, USC...A junior college transfer last year, Breslin burst onto the scene with a team-best 13.0 sacks for the Trojans in 2012. However, he battled injuries this past season as a senior, finishing with just 4.5 sacks in five games. Breslin underwent hip surgery in November and might be trying to receive a medical hardship waiver to play in 2014 for the Trojans. OTHER LB SNUBS: DeDe Lattimore, Shaquil Barrett, Eddie Lackey - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com

11/11/2013 - USC loses top pass rusher Morgan Breslin for rest of regular season...USC, which already has a roster whittled down due to NCAA scholarship sanctions and a run of injuries, will be without its top pass-rusher, DE/OLB Morgan Breslin for the rest of the regular season, head coach Ed Orgeron said Wednesday. Breslin will undergo hip surgery and the Trojans hope he recover in time to play in a bowl game.

The 6-2, 250-pound senior led the Trojans in tackles for loss with 19.5 and sacks with 13.5 in 2012, but has been sidelined for much of this season. He missed the opener against Hawaii due to a foot injury, and also missed the Arizona game, before returning to play some against Notre Dame. Breslin has missed the Trojans two games since. Still, Breslin has managed to produce eight TFLs and 4.5 sacks. "He's a terrific player," said Orgeron. "He just plays so hard." In Breslin's absence, J.R. Tavai has stepped up. Against Arizona, Tavai, a junior, was all over the field, piling up 10 tackles and 3.5 TFLs. - Bruce Feldman, CBSSports.com

09/07/2013 - LB Morgan Breslin (foot) missed the season opener at Hawaii but is hopeful to play against Washington State on Saturday. - The Sports Xchange

08/14/2013 - 2013 TED HENDRICKS AWARD PRESEASON WATCH LIST: Morgan Breslin, Southern Cal,...Breslin made a name for himself with his impressive showing while starting all of 2012 at defensive end as a junior after transferring to USC from a junior college in the spring of 2012. Overall in 2012, he had 62 tackles, including a team-high 19.5 for losses of 107 yards (with a team-best 13 sacks for minus 74 yards), plus 4 deflections, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. - USC football

08/13/2013 - TOP USC PROSPECTS FOR THE 2014 NFL DRAFT: 2. DE/OLB Morgan Breslin (6-2, 250, 4.67)...Breslin is short but possesses broad shoulders and a thick frame. He has good quickness off the snap and accelerates upfield smoothly, showing the ability to turn the corner and collapse the pocket. His lack of height actually aids him in ducking under the reach of tackles. He plays with a high-running motor and makes many plays in pursuit. Breslin's ability to rush the quarterback could result in a first round grade for some clubs, especially if he proves fluid enough to handle coverage duties as an outside linebacker. His size and struggles holding up against the run as a down defensive linemen, however, are concerns. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

08/13/2013 - PLAYERS TO WATCH IN 2013: DE Morgan Breslin shined as a junior college transfer, finishing last season with 19.5 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. He earned second-team All-Pac-12 honors. - The Sports Xchange

08/13/2013 - TOP USC PROSPECTS FOR THE 2014 NFL DRAFT: 2. DE/OLB Morgan Breslin (6-2, 250, 4.67)...Breslin exploded onto the Pac-12 in his first season after transferring in from Diablo Valley Community College. The undersized pass-rusher registered 62 tackles and led the team in tackles for loss (19.5) and sacks (13) to earn first-team all-conference accolades in his first season at the FCS level. The production was nothing new for Breslin, who'd recorded 28 sacks in his two seasons with the Vikings.

While Breslin was a star at defensive end under Monte Kiffin, he's been asked to make the transition to outside linebacker in new defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast's 3-4 attack. The move should result in another big season for Breslin, who was occasionally asked to rush the quarterback from the two-point stance in 2012. - Rob Rang, NFLDraftScout.com

07/16/2013 - 2013 LOMBARDI AWARD WATCH LIST: DL Morgan Breslin, USC...Breslin, one of the nation's premier pass rushers, returns for his second season as a starter as a senior in 2013, this year at outside linebacker after playing defensive end in 2012. Overall in 2012, he had 62 tackles, including a team-high 19.5 for losses of 107 yards (with a team-best 13 sacks for minus 74 yards), plus 4 deflections, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. He tied for fifth nationally in sacks (1.0, second in Pac-12) and was 15th in tackles for loss (1.5, fourth in Pac-12). - USC football

07/16/2013 - 2013 BEDNARIK AWARD WATCH LIST: DE Morgan Breslin, USC...Breslin made a name for himself with his impressive showing while starting all of 2012 at defensive end as a junior after transferring to USC from a junior college in the spring of 2012. He tied for fifth nationally in sacks (1.0, second in Pac-12) and was 15th in tackles for loss (1.5, fourth in Pac-12).
