05/05/2015 - A closer look at the Ravens' nine picks: Round 1/26 -- Breshad Perriman, WR, 6-2, 212, Central Florida...The Ravens have effectively replaced Torrey Smith with a big, fast downfield target who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.22 seconds. - The Sports Xchange

05/05/2015 - Loss of Smith leads to addition of WR Perriman...The Ravens needed someone to work opposite five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Steve Smith, a 36-year-old starter. The son of Brett Perriman, who played receiver in the NFL for a decade, Breshad is the first receiver that the Ravens have drafted in the first round since Mark Clayton in 2005. "The game is not going to be too big for him," Newsome said. "He brings an element to our offense that plays into Joe's strength in that he can be a vertical threat, but he also has the ability to run the full route tree."

Perriman caught 115 passes for 2,243 yards and 16 touchdowns in three seasons at Central Florida before declaring for the draft following his junior year. He caught four touchdowns and averaged 20.8 yards per reception in his sophomore year, but emerged as a strong NFL prospect last season with 50 catches for 1,044 yards and nine scores. Perriman needs to be more consistent and not drop easy passes. "That was my big problem at UCF," Perriman said. "I always tried to make the big play, no matter what. Sometimes, the first down is good. Sometimes, the completion is good. I've been working on that tremendously." - The Sports Xchange

05/05/2015 - Loss of Smith leads to addition of WR Perriman...The Baltimore Ravens lost wide receiver Torrey Smith during free agency when he signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the San Francisco 49ers. He was their top deep threat. The Ravens effectively replaced Smith as a deep threat when they drafted Central Florida speedy wide receiver Breshad Perriman with the 26th overall pick of the first round. Perriman is 6-foot-2, 212 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.22 seconds "My emotions were all over the place, at an all-time high," Perriman said. "I just feel like it's a dream come true. That was actually the team that I was wishing to go to. I know that it was a great opportunity and I can't wait to get there."

Perriman visited the Ravens before the draft. "We're excited about him," Ravens assistant general manager Eric DeCosta said. "He's a guy that we watched. I think (general manager Ozzie Newsome) is one of the first guys to watch him. We were in draft meetings, we took a break and he watched him, came back and said, 'You need to watch this guy.' I did and saw a big, fast, physical stallion. A younger player, he's going to get better. We're very excited about him. He complements our team extremely well and he's a great kid, as Ozzie alluded to. I think he makes us a better football team." - The Sports Xchange

01/13/2015 - UCF WR Breshad Perriman to enter 2015 NFL Draft...UCF wide receiver Breshad Perriman has decided to leave Orlando and take his talents to the next level by entering the 2015 NFL Draft. "I met with Breshad on Sunday. After discussing it with his family, he informed me he of his plans to enter the Draft," coach George O'Leary said in a statement released by the school. "I wish him the best of luck and I hope everything works out for him." Perriman led UCF with 1,044 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. CBSSports.com has him ranked as the No. 14 wide receiver in the 2015 draft class and projected to be a third round pick. Of his team-leading 50 receptions, none was more thrilling than scoring a touchdown on a Hail Mary toss from Justin Holman to beat ECU and win a share of the American Athletic Conference title. - Chip Patterson, CBSSports.com

12/05/2014 - Breshad Perriman hauled in a 51-yard touchdown pass on a Hail Mary from Justin Holman on the final play of the game, lifting Central Florida over East Carolina 32-30 on Thursday night to claim a share of the American Athletic Conference title. Entering the fourth quarter with a 26-9 lead, the Knights (9-3, 7-1) allowed three touchdown passes from East Carolina's Shane Carden. His 13-yard score to Justin Hardy rallied the Pirates (8-4, 5-3) to a 30-26 lead with 2:17 remaining. Holman's fourth-and-20 pass on the ensuing drive was incomplete. Carden kneeled three times and took a sack on fourth down, giving the Knights the ball back with 10 seconds left. Holman connected with Josh Reese for 14 yards to get near midfield. Holman then threw a bomb and Perriman got behind two leaping defenders to haul in the game-winner and help UCF join Memphis (9-3, 7-1) as co-conference champions. - AP Sports

08/08/2014 - 2014 PRESEASON BILETNIKOFF AWARD WATCH LIST: Breshad Perriman, University of Central Florida, Jr.,...Coming to UCF in 2012 out of Lithonia, Georgia, Perriman was voted on to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team with 26 receptions for 388 yards and three touchdowns. A year later, he started 10 games with 39 catches, 811 yards and four touchdowns, giving him 65 receptions his first two campaigns. Early in 2013, he had three 100-yard receiving games highlighted by a 91-yard touchdown pass from Blake Bortles against Akron, marking the longest play from scrimmage in UCF history. With just one touchdown in his first eight contests, though, Perriman delivered three scores in his final four outings including a touchdown catch in the win over Baylor in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. - UCF football

07/24/2014 - Other AAC prospects to watch in 2014: WR Breshad Perriman, UCF, RS Junior...One of Blake Bortles' favorite targets a year ago, Perriman finished fourth on the team in catches (38), but was second in receiving yards (811) and was among the leaders in all of college football with a 20.8 yards per catch average. He needs to be more reliable as a hands-catcher and eliminate the drops, but he uses his size and athleticism well. - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
