First team All-Conf USA. Led Conference USA in tackles per game (12.2) en route to earning first-team all-league recognition by both the media and head coaches … finished season with 122 tackles, including 69 solo hits … also contributed a pair of interceptions (vs. Florida State and Alcorn State) … had a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown against Florida State … recorded double digit tackles in seven contests … had a season-high 17 tackles vs. Michigan State in season opener and also against Houston … registered 16 tackles in final game of season at Marshall … had five tackles for loss for 11 yards … played much of second half of season with a knee injury.

2006 Season

Had outstanding season for the Blazers, leading the team in tackles with 65 (44 solo, 21 assists) … earned third-team All-Conference USA honors in vote of league's coaches … also tied for team lead in interceptions with three … had a pair of forced fumbles … also recorded one sack and three tackles for loss … recorded a season-high 13 tackles in contest vs. Southern Miss, including eight solo hits … recorded 26 tackles over the final three games of the season … returned interception 29 yards in win over East Carolina … registered seven tackles vs. UCF in season finale … had six tackles against both Rice and UTEP … had a caused fumble against Georgia and Southern Miss.

2005 Season

Enjoyed solid initial season in first action at UAB last fall … playing time in defensive backfield was abundant in latter stages of season … earlier in the campaign he had played primarily special teams where he excelled as perhaps team's most consistent tackler … finished the year with 35 tackles, including 23 solo hits … also contributed an interception (vs. UTEP), three pass break-ups and a pair of QB hurries … came on strong late in season in secondary with 15 tackles in final two games, including season-best nine in season finale at East Carolina … also had tackle for loss vs. the Pirates. contributed six tackles in late-season road victory at then nationally-ranked UTEP.

2004 Season

Sat out season and did not see any action for the Blazers.

High School

Lettered all four years in football at Lakeside High in metro-Atlanta under head coach Bill Harris … started at linebacker as both a sophomore and a junior, and was then moved to strong safety as a senior … was named All-Dekalb County as a junior and a senior … played on the same defensive unit with current UAB defensive end Jermaine McElveen at LHS … also spent time on the offensive side of the ball as a tailback … played a significant role on special teams as both a kickoff returner and kick-blocking specialist … blocked five punts and four extra points during his senior season … was an instrumental factor in the Vikings' four-year turnaround from being an 0-10 team during his freshman year to a 6-4 squad as a senior … also lettered all four years in basketball and started as both a junior and senior.
