Latest News
10/08/2009 - SCOUTING THE DEFENSE: Last week's loss was really the first time Vandy struggled for much of the game to stop the opponent, allowing 10-of-18 third-down conversions and nearly 400 total yards. The good news was that it did adjust in the second half, allowing just one touchdown and intercepting a pair of passes to give the offense a chance that it flubbed. It will have to do a better job getting off the field this week against Army, which prefers to control the ball and the clock with its triple-option running game. PLAYERS TO WATCH: DT Greg Billinger - Option offenses rely on the fullback dive to create opportunities to hurt defenses with the option game. If Billinger and his mates in the interior line can control Army's guards and center, the Black Knights won't get enough yardage up the middle to make their offense work.
