10/09/2009 - THIS WEEK'S GAME: Navy at Rice, Oct. 10 - A Rice defense that has had trouble stopping anything will see something it hasn't seen since the first game of the season - an option offense. After facing pass-heavy spread offenses for three weeks, the beleaguered Rice defense will go against a Navy team that averages 230 yards rushing. Offensively, the Owls are still trying to find a rhythm and average only 299 yards per game and has been held to 17 points or less three times. Navy has allowed 21 points per game. PLAYERS TO WATCH: WR Toren Dixon - Counted on in clutch situations, the senior has caught a pass in 31 straight games, the seventh-longest active streak in the nation.

09/22/2009 - WR Toren Dixon caught nine passes Saturday vs. Oklahoma State to move up to fifth on the all-time receptions list at Rice with 120. The senior has caught a pass in 29 straight games, which is the seventh-longest active receptions streak in the nation. The Owls' streak of 23 straight games with a touchdown catch ended against Oklahoma State. Instead, the Owls had three rushing touchdowns.
