2005 Season

Missed the non-conference season with a hip injury, but in just eight games he still finished third on the team in total tackles with 63 … Started five games … Averaged 7.9 tackles per game … Twice posted 10-plus tackles with 11 against Penn State and 10 vs. Wisconsin … Had seven tackles, one for loss and a forced fumble and fumble recovery at Indiana … In just his second game back, he got his first interception of the season, picking off Iowa's Drew Tate and returning it 30 yards.

Broke up his only pass of the season against the Nittany Lions … Posted nine tackles at Iowa and eight in the season finale against Northwestern … Did not participate in spring football in 2005 with the same hip injury … Had three hip surgeries and a hand surgery between December, 2004 and September, 2005.

2004 Season

Earned Rivals.com Freshman All-America honors … Also made The Sporting News' Freshman All-Big Ten team … Named team's Rookie of the Year … Ranked 17th in the Big Ten in tackles per game with 7.2 … Played in all 11 games and earned starts in the final seven … Finished the season second on the team in tackles with 79, including 42 solos … Made a career-high 12 stops vs. Michigan and grabbed his first interception which he returned 72 yards … Had 11 tackles at Michigan St. … Totaled 10 tackles against Wisconsin and Northwestern … Notched seven tackles vs. Florida A&M, Iowa and Indiana … Collected six tackles at Minnesota, five vs. Purdue and four against Western Michigan.
