A big, powerful presence along the defensive line … impressive speed for a player of his size … very quick and physical … enters the fall No. 1 on the depth chart at defensive tackle, along with Jared Cecchetti … sat out the 2005 season after transferring from Rutgers … has a chance to be one of the top linemen in the MAC.

2006 Season

Played in 11 games, missing the Toledo contest … Had 23 tackles, including six for losses with a sack … Recorded three tackles at Penn State … Credited with four stops at Kent State … In the season finale, registered a season-high five tackles, including two behind the line of scrimmage, versus Western Michigan … Only had three tackles in the win over Miami, however two of those went for losses.

2005 Season

Sat out while fulfilling NCAA transfer requirements … came to Akron just prior to the season.

2004 Season

at Rutgers: Played in eight of 11 games at defensive tackle, including the final six contests … finished the year with 15 tackles, including five stops … had six tackles (three solo, three assisted) at Navy (Nov. 20) … had three assisted tackles, including a sack at Pittsburgh (Oct. 23).

2003 Season

at Rutgers: Only saw action in the final six games of the season

due to a knee injury his senior year of high school … had three stops on the year from

his DT position … picked up his first collegiate sack vs. the Miami Hurricanes.

High School

One of the top lineman in the nation as a senior … missed most of his final season due to an injury … as a junior in 2001, made 82 tackles, including 17 tackles for loss and 14 quarterback sacks, caused six fumbles and knocked down nine passes … was the nation's No. 21 player on Allen Wallace's SuperPrep Elite 50 … the nation's No. 3 defensive lineman by Allen Wallace's SuperPrep … a SuperPrep All-American … . the nation's No. 15 defensive tackle by Tom Lemming's Prep Football Report … the nation's No. 10 player on The Insiders.com Top 100 … a first team selection on TheInsiders.com All-America Team … the No. 21 player on the Rivals 100 National Top 100 … was a member of the Palm Beach Post National Top 50 … coached by Jeff Weiner.
