Primarily a defensive lineman in high school, Baker didn't start playing on the offensive line as well until his senior year. But that was enough to draw interest from East Carolina.

Baker was a reserve for his first three seasons, but started at right tackle every game in 2011.

2011 Season

Started every game at right tackle.

2010 Season

Spent year challenging Grant Harner for starting honors at right tackle … Did not see time on the offensive line, but was a member of the field goal and PAT teams for every contest … Experienced action in all 13 games … Blocked for Michael Barbour's record-setting 56 points after touchdowns and 104-point season.

2009 Season

Played in 13 of 14 games as a sophomore … Opened campaign by experiencing action on solely the special teams squad in first five games before participating in a season-high 20 snaps vs. Rice Oct. 17 … In all, was on the offensive line at the tackle slot for 39 plays in four contests (Rice, Memphis, UAB and Houston in the C-USA Championship Game) … Was not credited with a knockdown block.

2008 Season

Experienced action in four games as a reserve lineman at the tackle position … Played vs. Memphis, Southern Miss, UAB and UTEP … Logged 70 plays from scrimmage and was credited with three knockdown blocks … Officially opened collegiate career with participation in three snaps vs. Memphis … Posted first knockdown against UAB before adding a personal-best two knockdowns vs. UTEP … Also played in a career-high 39 plays vs. Miners.

2007 Season

Redshirted during initial season in ECU program … Officially signed with East Carolina in February.

High School

A three-year starter on the defensive line for the Knights … A two-way starter as a senior, experiencing action as the program's top tight end on the offensive side of the ball … Selected to the all-area squad (second-team) as a defensive standout in 2006 … Helped lead Northern Nash to a playoff appearance during junior campaign … Promoted to varsity squad during Knights' playoff run as a freshman … Coach was Richard Bunch … A three-year starter at center for NNHS's basketball program who had a double-figure scoring average as a junior and senior … Also earned three track and field letters as a discus and shot put thrower … Finished fourth in the state shot put championships as a junior … Overall, recorded the third-longest throw in the state at 48-10 in 2005.
