Made rare, immediate impact as a true freshman … UND's first true freshman to see game action since current Minnesota Viking Jim Kleinsasser (1995) … Named All-American honorable mention by D2Football.com and Football Gazette … Named all-region first team pick by same two organizations … Named to All-NCC First Team, joining teammate Brent Halfmann as the league's only freshmen to earn all-conference honors in 2004 … Named UND's Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Special Teams Player … Led the Sioux with 1,071 all-purpose yards in 13 games … Amassed 613 punt return yards, 250 kick return yards, 141 receiving yards and 67 rushing yards … Led all Division II players in punt return yardage … Averaged an NCC-leading 13.3 yards per punt return, which ranked 17th in the country (tops among freshmen) … Also averaged 19.2 yards per kick return. 10.8 yards per reception and 5.2 yards per carry … Hauled in his first career TD reception against Ferris State (Oct. 9) … Had a season-high 177 all-purpose yards in that game and was named NCC Special Teams Player of the Week … Enjoyed four games with at least 100 all-purpose yards and another with 93 … Had a season-long 70-yard punt return at Nebraska-Omaha (Oct. 30) … Earned first letter.

A 2003 graduate of Bismarck High School … 2003 Gatorade Player of the Year … First player in Western Dakota Conference history to earn all-state honors three times … Also a three-time all-state and all-conference selection … Ran for over 2,100 yards and 40 touchdowns as a senior.
