Overview

Positives … Massive drive blocker with impressive shoulder and chest width … Uses his size to gain position and sustain, showing adequate leg drive and acceleration throughout the play … Has good feet and can bend well for such a tall guy … Uses his hands well to get into the defender's chest, locking on to sustain … Sinks his hips and keeps his leg base wide setting up in pass protection … Lacks aggression, but does keep his feet and generally tries to stay in the way … Adequate at using his arms effectively to control and wall off the edge rushers … Can mirror the defender's inside rush moves and keeps his head out, seeing twists and games well … Has the balance and some short area quickness to neutralize defenders off the line while trapping.

Negatives … Struggles with the quicker edge rushers, lacking the foot agility and slide to get back fast enough to seal and sustain … Needs to stand more flat-footed coming off the ball, as defenders can get their hands into his chest to push him back on his heels … Has very small hands, making it tough to lock on to the defender and ride him wide … Limited by a lack of strength than anything else, and while quick off the ball, he lacks explosion on contact … Rarely places his hands with any violence or authority, and will even block with his elbows … Allows transfer too often, and will get rag-dolled at times … His footwork is inconsistent and he can get off balance as a result … Has the feet to go get an edge rusher, and can slide and mirror, but can't anchor down and gets his base too narrow … Routinely soft with his hands, and struggles to muscle the defender on inside moves … Needs further strength development and temperment adjustment.
