Played in 10 games, making four starts and playing in the cornerback rotation all season. Led the cornerbacks with 30 tackles (14 solo), adding four pass breakups. Stellar player on special teams. 9/1 vs. Marshall: Played in the dime defense and on special teams. Saw action on 30 defensive plays and made two assisted tackles. 9/8 at Oklahoma: Played on special teams and saw reserve action at cornerback for 28 plays. Made three tackles (two solo). 9/15 vs. Florida International: Made the first start of his career at right cornerback. Played 49 downs and made five tackles (two solo), adding two passes defensed. 9/20 vs. Texas A&M: Saw extensive action in the cornerback rotation on 28 plays, making three assisted tackles and one pass defensed. 9/29 vs. Duke: Started at right cornerback and played on special teams. Saw action on 43 plays on defense, making five tackles (four solo). 10/6 at North Carolina: Started at right cornerback and played 46 downs, making seven tackles (three solo). 10/13 vs. Georgia Tech: Played on special teams. 10/20 at Florida State: Started at right cornerback and made four tackles (two solo). 11/3 vs. North Carolina State: Did not play. 11/10 vs. Virginia: Did not play. 11/17 at Virginia Tech: Played on special teams and for three plays at cornerback (no tackles). 11/24 at Boston College: Played on special teams.

2006 Season

Reserve cornerback and special teams performer who saw action in seven games … Did not play against Florida State. Saw his first action in two years vs. Florida A&M, then missed the next four games with a hamstring injury … Returned against Georgia Tech and played on special teams in the final six games.

2005 Season

Missed the entire season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee suffered during spring practice … Underwent reconstructive knee surgery on April 18 … Practiced on the scout team before the Peach Bowl … Received a medical redshirt.

2004 Season

Was expected to redshirt until he was needed on special teams for the final month of the season … Played in three games (Clemson, Virginia and Wake Forest), making two tackles.

Melrose (Tenn.) … Rated the No. 10 player in Tennessee by SuperPrep … Named to the Memphis Commercial Appeal's 2003 "Best of the Preps" Team … Played cornerback and wide receiver as a senior after playing tight end and receiver in previous years … Moved to defense for the first time in the spring before his senior season and was an immediate impact player … As a senior in 2003, intercepted six passes while leading 11-2 Melrose to the Class 4A state semifinals.
